The F7F/Me262 hybrid is nice, but unfortunately the ingredients' proportions do not match. 

What if one were to use 1/48 wings & engines with a 1/72 fuselage?  I don't have any of the needed donor aircraft, so I can't do any trial fitting ...

Yes, it would.  I'd start by slapping lengths of large 'angle iron' top, bottom, and sides, and puttying from there ...  The whole thing would be a putty-monster, pretty much - and I'm not very good at sculpting.

I assume the props on the rear engines are the right way round.  It's hard to make out.
