I wasn't questioning whether you could see over a BD-5J or not, I was comparing it with the Magister and the Gnat for lowness.....
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Got ya! yeah they are very low, over twice as low as you can see in this pic

You can stand alongside a Gnat and look clean OVER it to chat to people on the other side!  :o

The only other jet aircraft that I can recall with the same property is the Vampire, another ground hugger.

The BD-5J fits that bill as well.

Surely it depends on ones height?

Not the best of pictures, but the gentleman standing next to the plane appears to be of average build: http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/planes/bd5j/corkey-fornof.jpg

Would be marching to the beat of his own drum, if he didn't detest marching to any drumbeat at all so much.

With the Magister, it looks like a close call whether you might be able to converse across the cockpit area, but the tail section definitely seems conducive to carry on a bilateral dialogue...
