As it says on the (polished brass) tin, there is an exhibition of steampunk art and craft at Oxford University from October to February.

Distinct possibility I'll be going to this....

Thanks for the heads-up; I'll definitely have a look. Oxford is less than an hour's drive for me. Nice to see one of the Datamancer keyboards there.

Thanks for the link!  Unfortunately, I'll have to admire the show from a distance.  I did see the Babbage Engine in operation at the Computer History Museum in San Jose, California last year, and made an all too brief stop at the Handcar Regatta:

Cheers Andrew - that looks a splendid event!

Well the steampunk exhibition is excellent, and I had a thoroughly good day out (nothwithstanding adventures with "instant snowstorms" on the way home). It's on until Feb 21st, so there's still time to see it. Something for everyone: engineering, modelling, art, craft, fashion, top notch.

Probably the most "modelly" exhibits are Kris Kuksi's sculptures:

There are two there: the Anglo-Parisian Barnstormer (3rd row LH pic) and the Churchtank type 7C (2nd row RH pic). Note that he's made several other Churchtanks, who's pics are far more widely available on the web than this one.
