While I am not a fan of war games or Warhammer, I do recognize quality work when I see it.  So without further introduction, I recommend that you pay a visit to this BLOG (DEI GRECI - An Airmobile Imperial Guards Regiment for Warhammer 40K) and enjoy what this guy is doing with basic polystyrene pieces and a bit of imagination.

Saw that on a contest thread somewhere. real nice.

I always thought they should do a AA version either like the M163 or M16.

There is - it's the Hydra flak tank. It's based on the Chimera APC chassis rather than the Leman Russ MBT though. :)

I have seen the Hydra but just looks too big (course, most things in 40k do) and them Forgeworld conversions are outside my price range.
Maybe 4 Heavy Bolters mounted on a Rhino.  Or better yet, a good gatteling gun.

May I ask, what is warhammer?     That's a spectacular model!!!!    :wub: :wub: :wub:

And the Miyazaki "Bad Guy" tank is a spectacular 1/72 kit and fairly large at that.    The pigs are delightfully well done too.    Perhaps HLJ or Rainbow Ten will restock sometime.    It's *so* 'Japanjination.'      It almost makes one want to team them up with Fine Molds 1/72 Porco Rosso planes.

When I saw Mikes post I had the same thoughts as The Wookster. Hope Airfix re-issue there WWI tank soon.

However in the Early days of WW2 someone else had the same idea - TOG by the way stood for The Old Gang

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Fantasy wargame.

Warhammer = sword & sorcery

Warhammer 40,000 = sword and sorcery fast forwarded to a sci-fi future: Space-Orks with blasters sort-of-thing.

as for WWI specialist tanks there was a Mk IV winch tank, designed to haul itself up a beach for Operation Hush - the planned Allied amphibious landing in Belgium in 1917, there's some info in the Osprey New Vanguard on the Mk IV. They also carried ramps so they could climb the sea wall. of course you could do a whole series of Funnies based on WWI tanks...  ;D

I really like that.  Its got several features that look familier but I can't quite put my finger on.  Very well done :)
