Started an Italeri 1/72nd Hawk 100 this afternoon.
Detailed the rear cockpit with extras as it'll be a single-seater...need to add some more bits, but probably inside the canopy...just to add more interest.
You'll see from the pctures......next week.
Got the fuselage, intakes and wing together, all filled (just a little bit) rubbed down and ready for completion (in terms of a build) tomorrow.
It'll be fully armed....4 Sidewinders, fuel tanks and gun pod.
Probably in grey as I have lots of appropriate decals...RAF too.
Started it after I'd finished the latest boat while glued to the current political shenannigins. :drink:

What will be the what-if features of her?

An RAF single-seater...the rear seat space filled with gizmos and an extra underwing pylon for the underwing Sidewinders..
Might still do it in 19 Sqn Dark Earth/Dark Green too.

Looking good in grey, although I think another colour will be added tomorrow.

Full weapons load out of 4 Sidewinders, a gun pod and two fuel tanks. The second one might have a different load of a couple of bombs instead of the underwing Sidewinders....not sure yet though. I've detailed the rear cockpit space again in the second Hawk 100, but differently this time. Even with the canopy open, you won't see much as on my Hawks (converted to a single-seat configuration from a conventional two-seat), the canopy is a "clamshell" open/shut rather than the real side attachment.
It could well be RAF again, for a now impoverished service due to severe economic restraint....now there's a surprise!! The Hawk production line re-opened to produce relatively cheap but modern fighter and attack aircraft.

You should've said Terry, I've got a fair stash of RAF 1/72 Hawk decals

Thanks Nev....got lots of suitable now, not least from 1/144th Hunter sheets.

Sorted some bombs (from a soon-to-be RAF A-7 Corsair), and about to superglue a new, more substantial nose probe.
After that....black primer.

Can't be arsed with photos until Sunday at the Meir Model Show.

Sprayed both in grey primer.
The fighter-bomber one has a grey/green scheme, the other just grey.

Taking a lot of time....so many details!! The decals will be interesting too with all that stencilling.

Need to paint a bit more inside the cockpit as well.

These will be in for the "long haul" I think....might as well do them right after all.

I've got a couple of these bugs floating around, one will get a radome as a two seat Hawk 200 . . . Not totally sure about the other.

Reached "zero input" on them at the moment as I'm finishing other stuff....boats mostly. I need to clear some space, you see, so these Hawks are safely packed away....until later.
