The hard work has started. Filling the old cockpit requires a lot of putty, then there will be more putty addition, and sanding.

Yup

Maybe as a "air control" aircraft ? The French and Italian's certainly looked at the idea of having flying control rooms in order to control the air battle. I've got the Unicraft kit of one of the French proposals.
