Title: Mirage III+ (1:200, paper model)
Post by: cafe on May 24, 2011, 03:28:40 PM
I'm making a family of Mirage III and derivatives in 1:200. Among the different test builds, there's this one:

Yup, it's GTX's Mirage III+, a mix of Mirage IIIE/O and Kfir as seen here (http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,10054.msg294258.html#msg294258) and here (http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,27180.msg405611.html#msg405611).

These Mirages are quite small: 7 cm x 4.5 cm

That's incredibly work, especially when considering that there's mosquitos larger than that where I live!

In such a small scale and in paper too!

Yes, I am envious of your ability, cafe!

first off, they are some great lookin planes!  was gonna ask you to put a known object ( like a soda can or coin ) next to one so i could get e reference as to how small they are, then i realized the one is on the back of your hand! veeeeeerrryyy nice for such a small scale. secondly are youprinting them in color or in black n white and then coloring them with something(colored pencils?)? all n all great paper

Thanks. My printer has color issues so I'm printing them in black and white and then coloring with markers. I should buy a new one. :-\

Let's say the blue token is a 1€ coin (same size). The Mirage IIICJ were printed partly in color but I had to retrace all the red lines with a pen since they printed as light orange. The greys were added with markers.
