Post by: Cobra on August 06, 2011, 07:04:21 PM
Hey Guys,i'm still planning to do an Airfield Diorama but, Can Anyone tell me if Amber would be a Good Color to use for Airfield Landing Lights? I have Bought some Testors Paint,Enamel called 'Turn Signal Amber Metallic', is That a Color a Landing Light Lens would be? I'm planning to paint some Portion Cups,1oz.size to Represent Landing Lights. What say you? thanks for looking. Dan

Are we talking about airfield lights, or the landing lights on aircraft themselves? On aircraft they're clear, and the lights on an airfield vary depending on the use.

In any event, this page has a great primer on airfield lighting (http://www.freewebs.com/approach_light/). It should answer any questions you have.
