.....when I say whose I mean Air Force n not the manufacturer....I bought them cheap of fleabay in Hobby Kits Master Craft boxes....lovely art work....but the disappointing old Hasegawa kit inside (Wooks you were correct....!!)......both kits thrown together, literally,in an evening. Fit ain't great but just wanted to do something quick......I had started on my Sci-Fi drop ship thing but with lack of good time, just an hour or two here n there.....I wanted something to do.
So,under coated and awaiting paint....but whose...?? I know what they will be but anyone got any ideas....?? One will be WW2 the other will be a few years after.....

Many thanks.........H
Post war:
Spain - in overall painted aluminium, like their Hs123's or that really nice deep royal blue their Buchons had.
Israel - overall light blue/grey (light compass grey would look good).
Argentina - Pick a scheme !!
Late WWII
Romanian - in any of the late war schemes, but with lots of yellow theatre markings to lighten-it-up.
Italian - but in the splinter scheme/pattern that those very late G55's had.
HTH
Ian
Ya got one right, with slightly different colour......
A Finnish one wouldn't be totally far fetched.
Green and black topside, light blue bottom. Blue hakaristi for late WW2, blue and white roundels for post-war, assuming the result of WW2 is about the same as in real life.
Well that's the other one.......damn you lot are good......
They'll go with my pair then Hank

Hotte
Chris ......couple of great builds there....love that Hs123...
Hotte.....great paint on the Gustav but my mind is made up...an I got plenty of the decals I'm using but none of the Romanian ones......H
So...nice build.... once time I was draw few Finnish "Doras".... Here (down) they are : http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,29685.690.html and "post-war scheme" is on next page....
Panther....the top one out of the two is like the scheme I was going to do.....probably with a lighter blue underside.....my reference is the Osprey aircraft of the aces n obviously the Finnish aces one.....there is one scheme on a 1944 Me109G that I like....with the yellow cowling/wing tip an fuselage band.....H
http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/axis/luft/koen188.htm
Having just read this review I was going to suggest French post War Aeronavale but look forward to a Romanian / Finnish one
AFAIK, they're Polish copies of the original Hasegawa 190D. That was always a nice kit to build, just not very accurate...
Personally, a Czech Air Police one, in RLM02 with red engine cowl and leading edges would looks spiffing.

A Google image search should reveal lots of those. Finnish Gustavs started life in German camo and got the darker Finnish colors when it was time to overhaul them.
Wooks....the plastic is not as good as the Hase stuff.....it also has a very subtle 'texture' to it....not smooth as a babies like the Hase ones I have in the stash....ur idea may go on the spare I have....
Perttime....there is a profile like that in the aces book, all the others are in Luftwaffe colours an it was that one that was my inspiration.....
Not sure what colour for my Israeli one....grey n sand camo or overall RLM2....or something else....??
Overall RLM 02, like the S-199s. May need a sand filter on the supercharger intake though.

A quick search suggests that the Israeli Avia S-199s were not quite RLM 2:
""
RAL 6013 (Schilfgrün or "reed green", similar to RAF Hemp). RAL 6013 and RLM 02 only noticeably differ in two respects: RLM 02 is slightly darker and flat, whereas RAL 6013 is a lighter semi-gloss.""

Grey n sand camo wouldn't look bad ... but, for something different, what about the colors of the famous Black Spitfire?

Ah......good point n well presented....!!! Think I got some spares from the 109 kits I got....
Perttime......many thanks for the info on the colour....much appreciated....as to the black Spit, yeah I seen some pics of it while researching the S-199 colour.....H
A little bit of progress with the Israeli one......

Hope you like........yeah I know the top cowling has a gap.....the model is poor and there are some fit issues....I just wanted to get something done reasonably quickly....H
Coming on ok mate
Hi I have done Fw190D [ X8 ] in Blue Camo 1/72 Airfix Legends Models - In a What-if Scenario as Mercenary Squadron to Assist the Japanese on the Truk Atoll.
Being new to the forum I still have to figure how the image upload system works on this one.
Progress so far......nowhere near show stoppers but I'm happy with result so far....

Coming on nicely mate
Many thanks Chris.....gotta touch up the green....under light it is a bit thin.....needs another coat....
I was thinking that the green looked a bit pale, too.
The grey/sand contrast on the Israeli one is sharper than I expected but I don't really know what is right or wrong there.
Brush painted.....bit lazy n not used my airbrush in ages.....
Slower than expected but progress do far.....a few things left to be done on the Finnish bird...
(https://www.whatifmodellers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi263.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fii146%2Fpunisher916%2F95afae1e.jpg&hash=05679264d7f5aaaf229666a69703475c752a7c1f)
The white disc I painted on the upper wing was to small so the decal has been touched up....and the crystalkleer glue has yet to dry clear on the canopy.....hope you like....H
Looking good mate
The Finnish Dora really looks the part.
Matrixone
With that number of "kill marks", do you have a particular pilot in mind? You have about a dozen to choose from.
Thanks for the comments......as for the pilot....not sure yet.....I'll be consulting my Aircraft of the Aces:Finnish Aces when I get home......doubt it will be Wind or Juutlianen.....
aawwwww - nice - very nice
