Now I know this was posted at 11.30pm on the 31st December 2012, but I`m kinda thinking that I should imagine for a moment I lived in Australia, (although I`m in London), and when this was posted it was already a good few hours into 2013.

Therefore it seems `right` that Sticky Fingers "Outback Buggy, 1929" should be nominated for best Vehicle and Kitbash.

I have to chime in here: This actually is NOT a whif, rather the attempt to build a "real" movie figure...  :rolleyes: Thanks a lot for the nomination, though, but IMHO it does not qualify!

I will of course delete my nomination if you so wish Dizzy, however as the character herself is the creation of someones imagination I would submit that it does qualify.  :thumbsup:

Add to that the fact that figure nominations can be quite low throughout the year, I don`t think anyone would be that offended.  ;)

Well, we might leave it to the Academy - but the dark Rei actually is a "real" design, despite being a fictional character. Defining a whif is hard in this case, but IMHO it does not since if was built as an authentic screen character which does not exist as an OOb kit (yet).  :unsure:

Hey Dizzy.

Know where you are going here but a model of Capt. Kirk would qualify as a what if even if it was an attempt to model Shatner as the character just like a model of NCC 1701 is also a whiff.  Course, a Constellation Class starship in RAF markings is more of a whiff but both would qualify.

I say leave it for now.  We get so few figures that we haven't had the class in the last 2 Whiffies (that includes the upcoming one) and I would love to see the class return, and dioramas too.

I find choosing categories for Dizzyfugu a little difficult because his posts are complete packages of modeling (often kitbashed), photography, and back story.

As I understood it, you just propose some work that you find outstanding.
Include information about who and what, a picture, a link to the thread, and category (or categories) that apply.

Also, the categories can be expanded if there are enough nominations.  The first few years we had autos, dioramas, figures, etc on their own.  However, the last 2 years there weren't enough nominated builds so they were combined (ideally there should be at least 5 nominations per category, I based this off the Oscars).

You went over your bandwidth limit for the month. Same as me the other day (I switched to ImageShack for that very reason, BTW). Pics will be back at the beginning of the new month, starting from the date on which you signed up. Not sure I'm being clear. If you signed up for your account on, let's say, the 10th of the month, you're pics will be back up on August 10.  You can see the date under settings > account.

I just realised that the Blohm und Voss BV P.208 is much older than the diorama (2009). Does that disqualify it from 2013 whiffies?
(certainly not from being a great model)

Sorry chaps, been away for a while so only just catching up on these.  :banghead:

We have to follow the letter of the law on this one so while the diorama is good, the actual aircraft can`t go in I`m afraid.

However as the finished dio has the plane in it, it`s kinda a win win situation.  :thumbsup:
