One of the bargains I got from MZ for £1.99....Airfix Gosling/Wigeon....not sure who's its going to be yet...
This is a quick build while on down time at work.....this is my first attempt at 45yrs old at rigging (of sorts)....I'm not sure about the wire I used....seemed like a good idea at the time, thin stuff that goes around a bottle of red wine.....very soft......I couldn't find the ultra fine fishing wire at home.....I'm quite pleased with it but know it could be better.....the superglue I used weren't the best....lessons learned....
Sorry re poor quality picture....taken with an iPhone......

Only you could show off your rigging skills next to a bloody machine gun ;D ;D ;D
Nice work on it mate
 cheers......but single shot version only.....

You mean it is a 'Semi-automatic' as opposed to a 'Selective rate of fire' weapon?
You are quite correct....I am aware of that but I was being respectful to brother narses2 and his apparent lack of firearms knowledge.... ;)

Yeaqh, I should have known. I keep forgetting people of civilization who never served in the armed forces don't know all this technical stuff about hand held firearms. And they can't walk in step in large groups worth beans either! ;) :D
He makes good models though......
Is that an HK MP5K? Nice...
I will be watching what you do with this H, I do like these little flying dinghies,\i built one a few years back with a pair of astazou's from a Pukara, the engines fit straight on too which was nice ;) Oh and nice semi auto "point maker" by the way.
chris
The Carpet Monster must be giving you serious grief! ;D
The carpet monster gives me no jip at all......I got a few others that I may change a bit....
Hman....it's an HK MP5A3....has a sliding stock....
Thinking about it, I'd probably be extremely well-behaved if that was waved under my nose. ;D I assume you're a policeman then, looking after something important? That could be a good scheme for the Gosling - a patrol bird for a large port area or something. Are you going to be doing any mods, or just detailing-up (which is looking good, by the way)? My only attempt at "rigging" has been radio aerials, using some 12oz fishing line. Works quite well, though painting can be tricky (keep knocking it off the model!)
Love the rigging skills H, the MP5 - Not one of my favourite gun's I'm afraid.
I built one of those Golsings some years ago in a RW Caribbean washed out camo scheme, and was quite pleased with it, a neat looking aeroplane. But with time the wheels have developed alarming amounts of camber, so much so that they are almost at 45 deg by now. The plastic 'axles' of the landing gear struts are very thin indeed, so it may be worthwhile beefing them up with something.
Intrigued, looking forward to seeing what you've got planned!
Mossie.....not sure really.....had thought about an Israeli SAR in grey/blue.....I got a few and also thought about Finnish......and really want to do one in the style of the floatplane in 'Waterworld'...'

Cheers mate. I've only ever fired a shotgun while helping keep the vermin down on the farm years and years ago. And yes it was legal ;D I know a bit about historic firearms but nowt about modern ones.

That's me ;D Marching in step ? If you did that crossing London Bridge in the morning it would collapse  Always minded of the Laurel and Hardy film when people talk about marching in step. On the NW Frontier and Stan is out of step, gradually everyone bar the cross eyed sergeant get in step with him. Brilliant ;D
A little bit of progress...hopefully get an undercoat tonight....the u/c is woefully inadequate....part replaced by stretched sprue...which is all I had to hand...

The a/c was base coated with white (05) then the under surfaces and the demarcation up the side of the fuselage were light grey (371) the upper surfaces are light grey (76) and will probably have a camo scheme of greyblue (79) on it....all paints used are Revell aqua colours.....

If those hollow point rounds are 9mm it gives a good sense of the scale.
Hollow points?Just where
DO you work? :-\
Yep.....they are 9mm hollow points.....I work in London....a little bit of modelling during a break here n there.....
Well.....that's it for tonight.....hope you like.....

'Woefully inadequate', what a wonderfully descriptive phrase, as well as being 100% accurate!
I'm amazed how Airfix got away with some of their spindly landing gear legs in those days. The Mig 21 is the same, not enough strength to hold up an aircraft half its weight.
That does look terrific Hank, a beautifully delicate looking aircraft.
Cheers Kit.....although thick the windscreen fits really well....35 parts in total I think.....the next one will probably be modified with different engines and some different bodywork....think of the float plane in 'Waterworld'.....
glock of some kind (17 ? 19?) and a x26 taser, never been "in" my self, but ex twilight 2000 gm, so i needed to be resonable on IDing em. i could get my copy of Jane sout but ive got a purring cat on my lap and dont want to disterb it . ( should i do my blofeld impresson?)
Nice Gosling there mate! Are hollow points legal now then - or are they for folks who REALLY upset you!!

Yes the Police can use hollow points as they are not covered by the 'conventions'.

They better be, seeing Hank happens to be one of London's finest.
Glock 17 and correct on the taser....hollow point to prevent over penetration and not covered by geneva convention
Got a few things more to do on the gosling then decal it....

How thoughtful...
as has been stated on UK telly repeatedly " an officer is responsible from the moment the trigger is pulled till the moment the round stops" so any fire arms trained officer has to really be paying attention, if the bullet hits the target and goes through into a secondary target the officer is liable. ( i actually paid attention to the talk and descriptions, on the section on this at the royal armories in Leeds). Id be happy foe Even more "non overpenerative" rounds to be used, im guessing they arnt issued due to cost ( I hope im correct in thinking something like glasers).
ill stop tangenting and add looking nice so far the camos far less splodgy than i normaly manage
But for the fact I have sworn off buying any more kits (lusting after a very expensive lens for my camera), I would probably go and get one of these in a flash! Looking very good so far.
Steel P.....ur right in all you say.....glasers would be way to expensive and have (app) way less penetration...I read they would struggle to penetrate a door due to their construction.....great PD round...as long as nothing in the way....thanks re th paint scheme....
Pyro.... They are £1.99 at my MZ at the mo...if you want one or more posted to you I can we if they got any left and post them.....no worries re that......H
That camo looks good on it mate! Trying to work out what to do with the one you sent me....
Looks great so far. I`ve got one in my stash but as yet have no idea what to do with it.
Cheers......I'm trying to get a cheap Grumman Duck and make it along side the other Gosling an do it Waterworld/Mad Max style.....
Looking really good mate -
Cheers brother Narses2....
Progress so far....obviously still a few things to do....

This must be some lens!...............but I remember saving all of my pennies to buy a Nikon "Perspective Control" lens about 30 years ago. I still use it, and several architect friends pay me to take pictures of buildings as a result..
Looking good mate
Hopefully get it finished tomorrow.....

Rather spiffy, yes! Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR. Trying to find a second-hand one, as they're about £1600 new.
Very nice build H, I could do with trying to acquire some of those at that price. The colour scheme looks the part and brings it up to date too.
Chris.
Chris.....going into town tomorrow....you want me to see if there is any left....?? How many do you want...?? They were £1.99 last time I went....
Little bit more completed.....the black tubes are lengths of cotton bud to replace the kit exhausts....my idea of a flame damper/shroud......anything other than the mis formed kit parts....

Great job on your model !!! I'm impressed with it but I just can't go with your choice of color scheme. It just looks wrong to me. Don't ask me why ... ??? I have wanted that kit for many years but haven't found one yet. Now, I HAVE to get me one after seeing yours !!! Thanks for inspiring me with this build ...
Father E.....many thanks.....my choice was based on it being over water.....in hindsight maybe a blue n dark sea grey or a green....maybe like RN a/c of WWII.....but in the end I'm happy with it...thanks for the comments....
Oh that I like
Nice ! I love the colours...looks retro and modern at the same time ! Love the extra work on the bracing as well, adds alot to the model. I have this kit in the stash, but it seems to be such a dog that I don't want to start it...but the 'real' aeroplane itself is sure a beauty !
Thats come out well mate
Thanks for the comments chaps.....much appreciated....
We have to be nice...we don't have the gun...
