Okay, time to provide an update.
The plan is to take one of these:

......and the next vehicle in your ice-cream fleet might be a faster, lighter ice-cream selling tank "Mr Whippet"???

Surely a Whippet is part of Greyhound Coaches "
Personal Protection Division" for all those trips to not-so-safe destinations?

Hurrah! Building has begun!!

Stole 30 minutes from the time gobbler and made a start.
Parts thrown together OOB. Torn between adding the MG sponsons or not. These plus the hatches forward of the driver's position need modding to increase glazing (imagine the health and safety nightmares if I didn't!). If I don't add the sponsons then the gaps will be glazed in the traditional ice-cream van style.
As far a kitting out the interior is concerned, I wondered whether the engine needs moving from the real-world middle to the back of the hull. But that really isn't civilianising, that's redesigning (leaving the sponsons off is civilianising as bits are just removed not re-engineered - after all, the real 'Male' and 'Female' Mk I and IV tanks were externally essentially identical apart from the sponsons, which were according to armament). That then I suppose could call for retention of the sponsons as serving counters. Need to add the fridges/freezers can go next, and modify the driver's position so you can see the seats.
While I type I realise after a quick Google where fridges/freezers can go while either keeping or omitting the sponsons.
Watch this (just found): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vxn2qlWq3VM
This is completely and utterly ludicrous!!
I love it and eagerly await the finished result
It is ! But in a good way ! It would make a good chip wagon too...instead of bidding for the lucrative spots you battle it out !

Oh yes, that was implied ;) ;D
"I suppose could call for retention of the sponsons as serving counters"
YES, I think it's essential. Part of the vehicle character. And try to put the engine as far back as you can. One of the WW1 tanks problems was the heat generated by the engine. No good for ice cream conservation.
You see we're thinking the same thoughts here about keeping the ice cream cold. 🍦
Crazy! Running in Southend as a counterpart to this one?

OMG I had no idea! And it looks like a Mk IV Female.
Ice cream tank may be not such a mad idea after all.

Health & Safety Executive, eat your heart out!!!
If I wasn't at work I'd be LOLing. Love the idea!
Sucks, It' an OLD attraction! I hoped it was NOW!
Woah...how cool is that ! Wonder how many folk fell off ? Great video tho thanks.
PS-I like the idea of the sponsons, that could be where you keep the vinegar and ketchup etc, wait I'm thinking chip wagon again....napkins and straws etc.

Would have been handy at a football ground in the late 60's/70's. Could have kept the sponson mounted Lewis's as well, would have come in handy !
" You didn't pay for that ice ! Stop or I'll shoot" kinda thing ? lol
