Title: Academy A6M5C ordnance
Post by: comrade harps on October 19, 2015, 04:39:20 AM
I've just got this kit and I'm not too sure about the underwing ordnance.

They're usually described as 30kg bombs, but sometimes as air-to-air rockets (and they do have a certain rocket-like countenance), so, what's the general consensus on this?

Yes, these are 60kg air-to-air rockets. There were also smaller, 10 kg missiles, AFAIK only carried by the very late versions (A6M6 and onwards). I just do not know the official designation of these weapons.

Thanks for the confirmation about them being anti-bomber rockets. Thought they looked heavier than 30kg, too, as they're quite a bit bigger than SC50s.
