I agree with you kit partly because in space there is no up so the "underside" of the ship is rather an attractive target as it looks devoid of defensive armament.

you would think so wouldn't you, but there are rocket launchers etc down there - you just can't see them :) besides, all it needs to do is roll over if it has to defend itself like that.
What I like about this series is that they treat the space battles like they would a naval battle - shooting from quite a distance away. For anything up close and personal, they launch the Zeros etc
What cracks me up is that third bridge (the bottom one) always seems to stay attached to the ship even when it crashes into land. I've raised this with several different people and none of them know why it stays on. Some reckon it's the shield device that protects the ship, whilst the others (like me) just have no idea and it stays on because it can.
