There seems to have been numerous different colour schemes for British Army helicopters, ranging from Matt Earth and Matt Dark Green, just like the RAF's scheme, to the very odd colour that the Apaches have today. The latter seems to be sometimes green and other times grey, very confusing.
Is there a web site that has this information please?
54 people have looked and no-one knows the answer??? :o
It must be covered by the Official Secrets Act. :banghead:
You really need AirCav for Army Air Corp colours
The Lynx were originally RAF Green and Matt Black disruptive camo in place of the earlier Dark Earth and then went to Green and Medium Sea Grey.
The new Wildcats are Medium Sea Grey and Dark Sea Grey disruptive camo the same at the RN versions
The Apache's were Helo Drab but may now be NATO IR Green
I'm one of the guilty party. I had left my reply open while I was off searching for a pic of the British Army Huey I had built using what I thought were the proper colours.....of course I got side tracked....

That gives me enough to go on, thanks very much.
I like the idea of the NATO IR Green, greys really don't do much for me. But then again, the Black and RAF Green sound good too, hmmmmmmmmmmmm........

Geoff is right as to what he say's,
Dark earth and dark green for Beaver, Scout, Sioux, Skeeter, Auster and the such from the 50' to the early 70's when the Scouts went to Dk Green and Black as well as the first Lynx and Gazelles, by the the late 80's the Lynx, Gazelle and Scouts that were left, went to MSG and Green which they have stayed.
The Apaches are the IR Green as Geoff states because in Afghanistan they tended to burn the REME lads working on them during the day.
Sorry for the delay, could n't get on the site
Steve
Thanks Steve, just what I needed to know to get a proposed model into the right colour scheme for its time frame.
I've got a WAH-64 in the stash waiting to get built. So what shade is IR Green

Its basically NATO green Robert as done by Tamiya, but Hataka have done a new IRR green, they Also do the UK Helo Drab which is the green of the RN Wessex and Commandos before the later went IRR Green, and the RAF Blue Grey used on the Wasp, Whirlwind, Wessex and Sea King (in their Falklands set)
It looks as if you can paint one in any greenish colour you like and it'll be right for some period or another. ;D
But where can you get these wonderful Hataka paints? Their 'Distributor' page on the web site just comes up with a Google map of all of Europe......
I order direct from them if specific colours and if sets I tend to get them off eBay as they are distributed by Javis in the UK
There's at least one trader who does the circut who has some Hataka paints on sale.
I've a few of the sets as well (Polish AF 1939 being one) and they are very nice paints  The thing I like is that their sets are of however many paints it takes. So the above Polish only has 4 colours in it. No making up to 6 or 8 just to fill the standard box.
