I put together a whole post about this. No idea where it has gone. I can't be bothered to type it all out again but here's the pics.
The premise is that Russia exported their trucks worldwide and the dozer was ex-military repurposed for constructive uses rather than destroying houses and lives.

Truck and trailer are a Takom kit.
D9 is by Meng.
Crane is from a Hobby Boss AAVR-7
Chain stretchers are PE by Kit Form Services.
Paint is Vallejo acrylic.
Jeepers, that's a big 'ole thing! :o
What scale is it?
That's cool - I really like the blue tone(s), esp. on the Caterpillar!
Very nice mate, particularly like the work on the tracks
Beautiful job. Appreciated the dirt, rust, stains, masterful work.
The controls on the cab top are for the crane?
You did well in keeping the armoured glass, considering your local wildlife. ;D
Great job on that one !Interesting combo. I just love those giant Cats. Saw a couple on the highway last month, one was a D12. Wow.

1/35 scale, Kit.
Brilliant piece of work &, if put against a real(istic) backdrop, it looks real, too
Thanks folks.
Yes, 1/35.
And yes, the controls on the roof are for the crane. The crane operator would stand on his seat to work them.
There is a pin up of Kari Byron with an RPG inside the dozer cab.

There are a couple of places in the back yard where I could set it up for photographs with a backdrop of dirt and rocks.
What I would really like is a kit of a Cat D-6 LGP Swamp Dozer as I used to work with them.

It's beautiful!!! Had I not I found it there in the first place, I'd nom it for a whiffie. ;D
I'm with Dizzy about the blues....
Thanks Brad C.
The blues are Vallejo RAF shades straight out of the bottle. I'm away from home so I can't look them up but from memory they are Azure (dozer and tractor) and Mediterranean Blue (Trailer).
Now with added Hilux.
On Victorian roads oversize loads require an escort vehicle to precede them with flashing lights and signage.

The whole scene requires some civilian figures and maybe a cop car. Where can I get a 1/35 Holden Commodore?
Is there a suitable Chevy kit you could 'Ausie-ize'?

Thanks SU.

Best source might be a 1/32 slot car body. Scalextric do a Ford Falcon Hardtop which would be suitable (if a bit Mad Maxy).
;D

Scalex also do a 1970s Holden Torana, but not sure if the body's available without the slot bits.
Nice build Fred
Only comment I'd make is that Dozer loads like that around here, are usually loaded reversed on with the blade lying on the hump.
Thanks folks.
Dizz, thanks. It's an idea.

When I was working in earthmoving we loaded them blade first. But they were the smaller D6's.

Yeah, you're right on that count. I was looking at how your dozer was sitting on it's sprocket ends and not flat on the deck which reminded me on how they do it here.
Nice!! Gotta have the escort. I see... coolers.... and cans.... so petrol, water, fish & beer. Hell that's all you really need. Chain doubles as a stringer. ;D
Thanks Brad C.
There's a box of beers on the back seat as well.
;D Naturally!!! This has been a fun diversion re-visiting this build and seeing the nice new edition. Sitting together..... it really drives home the point of how large that D9 is. The area and profile of the blade is bigger than the pickup!! :o Or close? Certainly looks taller and nearly as long.
So much, ... so good, ... Just perfect.
Thanks Carlos.
Great stuff.
I was hoping that they'd do a standard cab version of the dozer to go along
with the 'killdozer'. No such luck.

A standard D9 would be nice.
