Here's possibly a unique question - has anyone thought of these as a basis for whiffing?
Bearing in mind my current dalliance with the Supermarine Swift, being as it is the very dog end of Supermarine's fighter existence, I've been considering a whiffed F3 GIA with a north east based technical school, probably attached to 607 Sqn. The Valiant Wings book on the Swift should give me the serials, etc, and a possible look but I was more intrigued with it as a possibility for whiffing and basically has anyone thought of it before?
I know, it's very subtle and quite possibly a blink and you'll miss it kind of thing, and one where you *REALLY* have to know your subject. But it fits in with the kind of thing I like doing.
Why not be even more sneaky and have the college or Maintenance Unit based at RAF Usworth?
That could work too.
However, that's not answering the basic question - has anyone thought of - or actually done a whiff - using a maintenance airframe?
once did a meteor with a turboprop on side normal axalflow engine in the other pod and a turbojet in a rear fuselage from a hunter. this was in overall yellow with no markings sadly can't find my photos of it but it might of been pre digital and most of those photos were lost in a move years ago
we at nelsam/usworth did one have swift WK198 the former World Air Speed record holder which we painted in trainer yellow temporally for a display at fanbough airshow and its still in these markings at its new home broklands

I thought it was in primer yellow/green ?
