Originally designed as a ship born multi purpose aircraft, the Goosander was to be a COD aircraft or anti submarine aircraft by use of interchangeable pods carried under the fuselage and removable electronics suites in the cockpit/ cabin. The navy wasn't too keen on this format but preferred the firms other offering the Gannett as a dedicated anti submarine aircraft instead, and also quite liked their twin Pioneers for the COD duty. Four aircraft were built before the navy changed their minds and instead of scrapping them, they were converted into VIP transport/ "Admirals Barge 's ". The aircraft stood high, due to being designed to carry large pods underneath the fuselage, so they had to have their own ladders specially made and stowed aboard ship.
The build consists of wings engine front and exhausts from a frog Gannett and the fuselage and tail wings are from the revell Skyraider. This should have been an easy build as I have done similar before, but the revell Skyraider is different where the wings attach, so a lot of styrene sheet and putty went in to fill a big gap. Also the fuselage and wings which should have sat square to each other , don't so the fuselage is slightly leaning over to one side. I put 30 steel BB's in the front fuselage of this thing and it still tail sits so it has got the blatant chock until I make it a base to sit on.

A wholly naval kitsbash, nice one Chris.
combo of the two aircraft goes quite well
Plenty of room for a passenger pod under the fuselage to stuff more admirals into!
Very good Chris.

Cheers everyone
That's a great kitbash -it looks really good!
Reminds me (a bit) of Blackburn's B54 design for the Fairey Gannets role.
Looks a good mix.
