Title: Terranian Explorer EX-1, 2127
Post by: nönöbär on April 11, 2021, 05:13:40 AM
Terranian Explorer EX-1 (former heavy cruiser TERRA), 2127

In 2127 the Rebanians were "discovered" by the Terranian Explorer EX-1.
After various Reban ships, a model of the EX-1 was still missing. In the early days of the Explorer fleet, various ship sizes were experimented with, until the 500 meter battle cruiser emerged as the ideal Explorer.

The EX-1 was a former TERRA-class heavy cruiser, actually it was the former TERRA that was no longer suitable for fleet service in 2126 and was thus converted to the Explorer.

The model of the EX-1 is from ThomasHo on Thinigiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4632117) and was printed with an FDM printer (did not fit the size in the SLA printer).
The model of the Gazelle is from me us is actually a Reban Space Yacht (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4488778) and was printed with the SLA printer.

Both models are 1:3000 scale, painted with Revel Aqua Color, the decals on the EX-1 are also printed by myself.

For size comparison, a few Rebanian ships in the same scale are shown.

Very! :o

There's what appears to be a 1 Euro cent coin in the second image as a scaling device.

The EX-1 is a ship with a diameter of 200 meters, so the model is 6,6 cm in size.

The little Gazelle is 35 meters, so its 1,1 cm. And one of the landing lags broke during painting, so I had to repair it... Arghhhh.

Yes, those are weapons, as this explorer is a former heavy cruiser of the terranian fleet.
There is a cut-away drawing - made in the mid 1960s - of this ship here (but everything is in German in there): http://www.rz-journal.de/Downl/0216.html (http://www.rz-journal.de/Downl/0216.html)
