I built this 1/48 TSR2 as a swing wing several years ago, but I was never happy with it. The origins were immediately obvious (F-14) and they didn't swing. So, I ripped it apart and started (more or less) again. The new wings and fuselage section are from an Academy FB-111. I left the original F-15 intakes and Tornado nose section.
I repainted in Gulf War colours.

That's awesome! A whole new kind of arrow!
Better!!
Cool.
Looking at the finished aircraft, maybe a 1" plug could have been taken out behind the cockpit? With the VG wings it looks a bit tail-heavy. The different cockpit looks great, too.

Good point.
I spent a fair bit of time deciding the position of the wings, as the CoG moves back with them swept. I started with them a lot further forward, but looking at other VG ac I think I hit a balance. The CoG of an ac is better towards the rear than the front anyway. Plus I tried to do them as a mid-life update, so I didn't want to mess arounf too much with the core of the airframe.
That does look neat
Very cool build indeed!!   :tornado:

Really nice!
May I ask a possibly dumb question? Why are two of the BL755's black and two green?
Well done

Thank you. The RAF changed the colour they painted their bombs sometime in the late 70's, early 80's. Prior to that they were a very dark green. After that they were a lighter, more tactical green. However that means there were stocks of both for a long time. Quite often you'd see a mix of the two colours, or as I have done, a mix of an early and later coloured main body and fins.
