Age of majority in the UK changed from 21 to 18 when I was somewhere in between them so I had a rehearsal for my Stag Night on my 21st ? Actual Stag came a couple of months later  :drink:

Hahaha...no stag party ..didn't bother with it ..was still very busy and kinda forgot about it and the more time went the less I thought so it never happened..in away I'm quite happy it didn't happen cause knowing the guys in my unit I'd probably have ended up in Iceland  ;D

Had a lovely day at the De Havilland Museum show today with the London club. I may be a little sunburnt from the glorious weather

What I bought:

Zvezda Yak-130 £6
Airfix Gnat, no decals or instructions. £3
AMC KAB-500L Laser Guided Bombs Great price of only £2.
Condor German Missiles Set 1 Fairly basic pair of late war missiles. BV 246 Hagelkorn and Messerschmitt Enzian £5

Envelope from the Big H containing a few canopy framing masks and the Xtradecal Spitfire Vc collection sheet. Got the Xtradecal because I fancy doing one of the Malta based Mk V's, but on looking at it I find it also has some national markings which will come in useful for something I'm currently working on, and will save me robbing another kit

One of the canopy masking sets was for the Airfix Typhoon Mk IB. Thinking of doing the one in my stash as an Italian based 112 Sqd aircraft, on the assumption they went from P.40 to Typhoon rather than Mustang.

Received a box from the BIG yellow H today which contained a few items

1 x 1/72 eduard EDK70152 Avia S-199 ERLA canopy. Interestingly is has a few of the options with cut outs for the undercarriage bays to make flat ends to them.
1 x 1/72 AIMS decals 72D015 UK & Commonwealth in Korea
1 x 1/72 OWL decals QWLS72011 Junkers Ju 88 C-6 with WGr 21, R4+GK, 2/NJG 2
1 x 1/72 S.B.S. model 72005 E.E.Canberra Correct rudder for Airfix kit. Doesn't say which Airfix kit though  :-\
2 x 1/72 Scale Aircraft Conversions 72054 E.E. Canberra Landing Gear (AX)
3 x 1/72 PJ Productions 721208 Martin Baker Mk 4 Ejection Seat for Canberra. Bit of a theme here and they were cheap at £.99 per pack and each pack contains two seats  ;D
2 x 1/72 Mini World A72 27b M2 .50 Browning Heavy Barrel, Aircraft. Each pack contains 10 Barrels which is enough for the turrets of one B-29

Was handed a WK Heinkel He 70 by Willie. Upon opening it, I realised it had been one I'd passed to him ages ago and that was why I couldn't find it during that search of the loft last week.

It's a bit rough, being one of MPM's early kits tooled for other people (see also Karo As) before they struck out on their own.

Started a experiment with a ship kit of the german SCHARNHORST

The different turrets seems interesting . Lucky to find a kit without the lower body in the ads for a very small amount ...
It's a Land Rover, NOT a Jeep . Like a Jeep, but for gentlemen.

Just got handed 3X 54mm resin-printed Ladies from my guy at the local Library... all for $5 KiwiBucks, and would still have been cheap at twice the price!

Still awaiting 3 others, but I'm in no hurry.

I just brought a Airfix 1/48th Boulton Paul Defiant.
Talking with Mark (2996 Victor ) about his build got my brain going..so I went looking .
I found many with normal $50 to high $80 prices but a keep looking..and I found a beauty.
I scored it for $35 nz ..(£ 18 or € 19.50 )  ;D  ;D 😉

3 x DEF Model 1/35 British Jackal MWMIK 4x4 Sagged Wheel set for HobbyBoss kits (DEF-DW35125) - for my Jackal & Coyote kits, much better than those horrid vinyl things!
1 x Special Hobby 1/48 Czechoslovak Aero C-3B Bomber-Trainer (SH48217) - it's a Siebel 204D, but the French & Czechs continued building them post-war (the French as the NC700/NC702 & the Czechs as the C-3A/B, C-103 & D-44) for my Czech collection.

There are two decal options for aircraft used to bomb ice dams on the Danube during March 1947, which threatened to flood Bratislava. I would like to do both but they are slightly different versions, so I'd need two kits & I can't justify that expense.

So, I will do V-15 (box art version), flown by Major Jiří Maňák (16 December 1916 - 29 December 1992), as a memorial to both him & Staff Captain Rudolf Haering (9 February 1915 - 14 March 1976), both decorated pilots who flew with the RAF during WW2, Maňák commanding No.198 Sqn RAF flying Typhoons & Haering flying Wellingtons, B-25 Mitchells & B-24 Liberators with No. 311 Sqn RAF. Both men were persecuted, arrested & imprisoned after the 1948 Communist coupe &, when released, were only allowed to work in manual labour jobs.

Today I received a small packet containing 40odd 1/72 pilots.
Thank you Chris.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

2996 Victor

Ordered an Airfix Hawker Hurricane Mk.I (Trop) in 1/48, the Vokes filter is already earmarked for my Boulton Paul Valiant Mk.I, while the rest of the kit will have a serious nose job.....
Mark's workbench:

Spitfire PR.XIX Rearward-cockpit - Airfix 1/48
Boulton Paul Valiant Mk.I PR - Airfix 1/48

There was a movie about that once, but my IMDB-fu has failed me.
Worth watching, though - told in flashbacks, while the airmen were in a labour facility.
