Just a couple of times Kit, she was a bit of a "speed head" and Daddy owned a posh garage in deepest Sussex so she got to drive any car she fancied which came into it    Her favourite was her Daimler Dart, but that only came out on special occasions.  She even had a pair of white gloves in the glove box for when she needed to fill the radiator up, it had a very small one, etc. 

A Dart? What a great car, albeit not the prettiest on the block. But that LOVELY hemi-head V8 engine, wow!

All I know is that it seemed to go through more water than petrol. Had a tiny radiator mounted almost on top of the engine.

My Signum does just the same, and I hope it's being sorted right now (Where's the 'fingers crossed' emoticon when you need one?)

There has been a lot of rumours that Ford has been working behind the scenes to produce an EV Capri as and when this will make it into the showrooms is debatable.

Alas, EVs are fairly heavy, so they will never have the light (by modern standards) "tossable" nature
of the originals.  Ford US seems to be concentrating on truck-based EVs, which are not of much interest
to me.

Personally, I would have preferred a more modern ICE-powered Capri. There have been numerous
proposals over the years. The last "official" one from Ford was a slightly restyled Focus hatchback. I
don't think that many Capri fans were impressed.

That said, I have a few images of a nice "unofficial" proposal from some years back. IMHO, it would
be a good basis for a model.

I came across a company called Berkeley Cars, had I'd known that they existed I would built a model for the 1950s GB. Originally they used motorcycle engines and were the micro cars of the age so all you needed was a motorcycle licence to drive them and road tax it as well in the UK.
Towards the early sixties they began to use the engine from the Ford Anglia and produced three wheelers but the company went bust.

My mate Pete, him with the teeny-weeny lathe, used to have a Berkeley 3-wheeler. It went like the clappers, and was very stable on corners, despite only having one wheel at the rear, but it lacked a bit in creature comforts, the seats were VERY thin indeed and did little to cushion one's nether regions from the road bumps.

The B - Manta is okay, but the A was a real design milestone in Germany together with the GT .
