If you want buildings that are  bit more durable than the card ones,  have a look at the lasercut MDF,  a few years ago i would have said to go to the fourground site, but i think they have been bought out by a different company, so have no idea on cost/ quality/ reliability.

I'm out of putty/filler as I used the last of it on the Bristol Olympus (former Blackbird kit) which is slowly being pieced together. It's a good job that the Italeri Convair B-58 Hustler fits as there's more parts missing on the SR-71A so the undercarriage will be used from the Hustler.
Whilst that's been drying out,  I have used the tail fins from the SR-71A on the Revell ATB kit. I named mine the Avro Vulcan B.4. There's stealth bombers and stealth fighters but what about a stealth ASW submarine hunter?
Avro did propose the Sea Vulcan, I'm thinking out of the box for alternative uses and the maritime surveillance role would suit. So the Avro Vulcan MRA.4.

Tuesday 16th May 2023

The A.W. Argosy AEW.2 was damaged beyond repair,  I knocked it off a shelf during the night and tried to repair it. When that failed I then tried to use the twin boom on the Cardinal Heliplane which didn't go to well. Ended up gluing the pair of B-52G engines to cover the gaps where the wings would fit on the C-130.
After going back to bed, I have fitted the turbojets back to the EB-61 Peacehaven AEW.1 on the wingtips.
The Triumph Broadsword has a new grill, headlights and spotlights.

Thursday 18th May 2023
Part 1- The early morning session

The weapons racks from the 1/72 Italeri Convair B-58 Hustler fits the underside of the Revell 1/72 Northrop ATB/BAe Vulcan MRA.4. I've liberated the FLIR pod from the Cardinal Heliplane. That's also changed with a nose job- the nose cone from the F-111B and the pair of side blisters from the B-52G; one contains a camera whilst the other houses the Hughes
AN/AAQ-6 forward-looking infrared FLIR camera.
The Lockheed SR-71A Blackbird landing gear fits the Sword BAC Lightning T.Mk.5 or Thunderbolt.
As for the Lockheed Neptune MR.Mk1 this has also had a radical change in engine power. Two turbojets as the main engines. I'm going have to buy the SAC metal landing gear set to finish this build.
Whilst that's all drying a bit of breakfast and a few online games.

Friday 19th May 2023

No whiffery today , I got issued with my Gym pass and had an hours session.  My first one since I scorched my left shin with some hot liquid a month ago. Knees are hurting.
I saw my first LEVC VN5 today,  its the electric van version of the Taxi Cab on the way home on the bus. There is now a campervan conversion for roughly the same price as the van, no gas bottles to worry about and the range extender of 300 miles. Electric range of 80 miles, top speed 88mph. Having driven the TX1 you don't want to be doing the ton, although I did try and reached 98,7 mph on a private road. For a private car,  I think the basic Taxi with lots of extras, I would choose the yellow paint with fake wood wrap on the doors,  if I had the option I would choose the sliding doors and rear doors. Just move the rear bench seat forwards or replace it with a 'rock & roll bed' with tie-down hooks in the floor.
I can always wait for the Airfix esay build Taxi kit to arrive and whiff it.

Careful with the knees! That could be very painful if they get damaged.

Saturday 20th May 2023

I went out to the Food Bank in Welling Kent and they gave me an extra bag of tinned soup, those shopping bags were heavy. Instead of taking my usual bus home I chose the nearest bus stop and caught the number 96 to Woolwich,  then the 177 to Peckham which stops just outside my kitchen window. I was knackered.
Whilst watching Channel 4 on my tablet I came across the TV series; Find it,  fix it and drive it. Hosted by Henry Cole and Sam Lovegrove. Sam has the spanners and can fix anything with an engine whilst Henry comes up with the cash. You don't get to see if they keep what they have bought or know if it has been sold after they have fixed it.
This has given me a few ideas on what to do with three of my model car builds.
I should be getting a parcel delivered during next week, the Hasegawa Shinmeiwa PS-1/US-1A flying boat. The design looks as though it was heavily influenced by the Martin Marlin and there is a concept model of a Grumman with four radial engines that looks very similar to the PS-1 so maybe an engine change.

Yup, mine have even started complaining when coming down stairs nowadays let alone up them. They keep giving at unexpected moments as well. Still my fault, I was told to stop playing football at 18, but you think your invincible at that age.

I think with my right hip issues I put extra strain of my left leg and the knee objects strongly.

More than likely. Originally my right knee was the worst, but after years of taking the strain it's the left now.

Leg joints have long memories!  My left ankle can remember that I used to run cross country at  the age of 19, and that I went over on it most uncomfortably a few hundred yards from the finish of a race.  I finished on a mixture of  sheer pig headedness and adrenaline but every now and again the ankle twinges and murmurs "Do you remember September 1971 in Lancaster?"
