The only motorbike I ever had, a Triumph Bonneville with a sidecar, owned 50:50 with my brother, would never have got anywhere near the Continent, it had a tough enough time getting out of Oxfordshire without something vital falling off!

That included the sidecar wheel on one occasion..............

After all these years I've finally gotten myself one of those Micro Mir kits. Not sure what I'm going to do with it, but I finally got it !

I'm trying to work out what the cars in the hold  are. Blue one on the top deck is either a Morris Minor or possibly its big brother the Cowley.  Lower rear is either a Triumph Mayflower or the bigger Renown.  Lower deck at the front could well be a Hillman Minx and the cream car in the middle lower deck is a Vauxhall Velox.  Anyone have thoughts on this?

I think you have those cars dead right, yes. 

It would have been fun watching them load and unload the upper deck ones................ 

Top rear has the shape of a Jaguar, but it's a bit small ?

I think that the top/front car could be a Standard Vanguard  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_Vanguard#Vanguard_Phase_I     and the top/rear is possibly a Singer SM1500 Hunter    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singer_SM1500

I may well be totally wrong, of course.  Opinions, please.

The Vanguard of that period had a 'fastback' rear that swooped all the way down to the rear bumper from the roof line. Only the later ones had a proper boot, and they were longer anyway.

The Hunter certainly is a possibility, it's a car many people forget as well. I think the Mk 1-Mk 2 Jag was a lot longer than that third top row one too.

Found a couple of whif skins for FSX at sim outhouse.  These are both likely had the car ferry gone ahead, Silver City were interested in the Universal and were bought out by British United in the 60's, BAF being one of their subsidiaries.

Magic stuff, a Bev looks good in almost ANY scheme, except for the one it's most often seen in, the RAF desert scheme!

Wel I do not know about the cokour shaeme. However I do remember seeing a Beverely taking off from RAF Finingley and watchingi "fky across the sky" it was so slow. Durinr wich a pair of USAF F-4s in the old grey and white scheem did a go-aeound, but the Bev was still so sedately.
I still thhink it needs  some RR Tynes though!

There's quite a bit on this in Chris Gibson's On Atlas' Shoulders.  The Tyne Beverley would have been Stage 2.  Stage 3 would have had Napier Elands, retractable under carriage and rear doors that could be opened in flight and stretched to the tail.

Original Centaurus output 2850 hp.  Of the proposals above:-  Napier Elands; about 3750 horses  Rolls Royce Tyne R  Ty32 proposed development about 8400 horse power.      Four late model Tynes and it could safely be assumed that the Beverley would have had a much more sprightly performance.
