I wish Colin would rerelease the Centaurus prototype bits, as I missed them on release and the rare examples that turn up on eBay got for way too much.  The Two Six BOAC decals are also getting rare.

Was it Contrail that did the Avro Leeds conversion for that kit?  Again, try finding one of those now!

The original was a Sutcliffe conversion, but it was rubbish and Contrail took over the moulds after poor sales and upgraded it, and this time got the fin sizes correct. The Sutcliffe version had Lincoln fins, whereas the real thing had slightly narrower Shackelton based fins of course.

Of course! There was some rumour that Aircraft in Miniature got the moulds but an email to the owner was met with the terse reply that "no one does vacforms now" and he wasn't going to waste time with them.

OOC: can we spin-off a separate Fantasy kit thread, talking about said kits as if they were real? Such a thread would prevent this one from getting spammed with the conversations like Kit and me are having.

Probably a good idea, yes. As it is maybe only 3-4 of us know what the devil we're on about.   

The problem is I'm not sure what the heck the subject of the new thread would be ? Nor which replies would go in it. Plus it's a fiddly job which I need to be "up" for.

Not quite sure either, but I've seen similar elsewhere so I don't think it's a tricky thing to do.
