Indeed  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

All work and not much fun here, I'm afraid. Actually to the degree that I'm falling behind also on reading up on what all of you chaps are up to. That's annoying!

Well - life is cyclic. I'll get back to it once other things calm down.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

That is oh so true

Still reading and watching, but not as much as even planning anything modelling related right now. Our bathroom renovation is gaining momentum before hopefully getting completed by end of next week. That'll be nice, having the proper shower back.
Loads of garden work as well, plus some of the usual Defender maintenance.

On the hobby side, last week I got wind of some celebration at the SAAB fighter aircraft factory in the next town, and that the Swedish Air Force Historic Flight would make an appearance. Now, that's too good to miss, so I took my 10 yo in the car and went to hang out by the airfield fence, and right on time, a SAAB J29F Tunnan took of to display, soon followed by, in turn, a J32E Lansen, an AJ37 Viggen, a J35F Draken and finally a J39D Gripen. All turning and burning, but as so often, the Draken display is the best. It's loud, fast and it seems G-load isn't an issue in the same way as it is with other aircraft, and above all - the afterburner flame is almost half the length of the pretty little fighter! Great entertainment!

Tomorrow's our National Day, and there's a promise of an overflight of no less than 12 Sk60 trainers escorted by four Gripen fighters. Something of a last hurrah for the old SAAB 105's as their replacements already have been delivered.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

What is replacing the SAAB 105?

------
We had the Armed Forces Flag Day on Sunday, in addition to F/A-18 and some helicopters, some participants of the ACE23 exercise joined the overflight: F-15 and Gripen. Parts of the exercise are operated from Luleå.

That's what I am curious about, too!  :o

Really this here, the (German) Grob G 120TP?!  :-\

That's the one. And I'm having some difficulty seeing that the yearly Christmas tree formations will be as fun from now on.  :-\

From the RSwAF, everyone is emphasising the much more modern "systems', but I have to admit that it seems a bit strange at all trying to compare a basic proptrainer with an advanced trainer/light strike platform.
But the deal is signed, some aircraft are delivered and one or two bean counters will most likely rejoice over the fuel bills..

Anyway - the flyby was REALLY nice, so I'll settle for that for now.

Looking at the two RDAF attackers that's been sitting more or less untouched on my desk for two months at least now, it's strange how fast time flies. But there just hasn't been any time at all to really sit down lately. Loads at work, loads around the bathroom renovation, and also quite some in the garden has made the days too short as it is. Still, following other projects on this site is keeping my lust there.

Anyway - the bathroom will - hopefully - be ready soon enough. There's a plummer working away as I write, and a tiler will be incoming tomorrow for the final bits. Then we should be good to go. I hope. And then, just maybe, I'll find a little more mental space for hobbies.

Currently at the summer house in the archipelago, just letting time go by. A most pleasant pastime, if I may say so, but alas - it's only for the weekend. Nevertheless, it's not to be frowned upon, as the rest I get here during a single weekend often brings me through a full week at least.

And it is needed. My work situation is changing for the worse and with that, it seems, a significant pay cut coinciding with a Swedish inflation staying well over the rest of the civilised world meaning the spoils I use to feed my hobbies will be more limited than in a long time. On the other hand, that same change might lead to the start of something more exciting from a professional perspective, hopefully meaning a happier chappy in the long run. If a poorer one. And, crucially, if my stress over sensitive mind copes.

Well. I'll just have to row the boat I'm in, I suppose. And after all, my motto is "Onwards!"

IMHO, if you're happier in a job, that can help to make up for a lower salary... or maybe that's just what I tell myself and I'm living in a Fool's Paradise... time will tell...  ;D

YMMV and Other Opinions Are Available, of course.

Leading a happy life is all we all hope for.  May happier chappy status be bestowed upon you.
