Hopefully the series is 2-2 at that point.  It can get boring when we just keep on winning...

I'm keeping my thoughts to myself   

Been having some thoughts on the forthcoming re-engine it GB and whilst I'm not really into serious kit modification anymore I do have a couple, at least, of Sabres from AZ Tempest II kits knocking around. So maybe stick them on the front of a Beaufighter ? Just wondering if anyone did a kit of a Merlin engine'd Beau ? Might be easier to mangle ?

They do, I think it's High Planes, and Colin Freightdog sells them...........

The Highplanes Beaufighters are not nice builds. I struggled repeatedly with mine over the years but it's yet to see glue as the fit is not good.  Pricier but possibly easier would be a new tool Airfix one with the Alley cat Beaufighter wings.

Actually, I've a better idea, but I'm going to do it myself.  Still Sabres, but very different and a much easier conversion.  And I might have the cowlings in something else. 

I put Revell Lanc Merlins on an old mould Airfix Beau.  Don't remember having too many issues.

I found the cowlings I was thinking of and they should fit over the existing hardware. I'll know more next week.

Having seen them, they've given me an idea of how to do the Buccaneer cowlings.

As I'm coming to the end of my current crop of builds I decided to sit down and sort my next batch out. Decided I'll get back to my third Tempest II which stalled with the others. I've assembled the cowling halves to the fuselage first on this one rather than the way AZ would have you do it. It certainly makes this part of the assembly easier and cleaner but there's some serious whittling of the engine required in order for it to fit, but what the heck as you can see B all of it anyway behind that spinner and front plate, or whatever it is. I know nothing about engines whatsoever 

The others will consist of a real world build, a simple theatre re-assignment job and, now that I've found the extra bits, a change of roll for the type. Hopefully start these post One Week Build.

Be going through some old photos, which always takes 10x longer than you allocate  , looking for some of my dad as I want to stick some up on my FB page for what would have been his 100th in September. Anyway I found some of me and an old primary school mate taken probably in 1961/1962 when we were in Holland. His dad had married a Dutch lady he'd met in 1944/45 (we had a couple of lads at school with Dutch mums) and they'd gone to visit her parents and they asked me along to keep Colin company. These were taken on a military training range and apart from the wild boar and deer there are a couple of us climbing all over what appears to be a rather immaculate Sherman. Now either Sherman's were bigger than I thought or we were smaller than I remember 

Coincidentally, the fact I had my own passport at such an early age, rather then appear on your parents, got me some exceptional treatment from French/Spanish/Italian Customs etc. Once they saw my passport they were always so careful to make sure the stamp was immaculate, unlike HMRC 

Should have gone to cricket yesterday rather than Sunday. Surrey were getting a right hammering from Kent for the 3 days, Kent set them 501 to win in their second innings. The boys did it with 5 wickets in hand 

For those who live in heathen lands where the Great Game is not practiced this meant they got the runs required, in  the time available and still had 5 wickets out of 10 to spare
