As for the back end of the island superstructure, I'm deciding on 3 different options.

For the PriFly I think Option 2. Option 1 would be little bit easier but would leave it a bit too low.

For the upper enclosed superstructure deck I think Option 1 will look better & be a good effort-effect balance.

I'd go with option one myself. It gives more visual interest. I would slope the added bulkhead for more stealth look.

I could have gone with 2 islands on my model carrier. But I don't have enough spare model parts to make a 2nd island structure. Plus, if I were to scratch build a second structure, getting all the pieces at the right angles and to line up perfectly is a PITA.    Especially considering the fact I have bad eyesight.
The below pic shows a red rectangle which represents the structure I plan on using which I've shown in past posts and pictures.
If I had gone with 2 island structures, I'd have to skip using elevator # 3 and instead use elevators 2 and 4 on the starboard side, and place the 2 island structures (Green squares) between elevators 2 and 4.

Almost 39" inches long x 10" inches wide. But once I put it on a wood display base, it'll be even more longer and wider. But I haven't decided how big to make the wood base? I'm thinking maybe 44" x 16"? Not sure yet.

I'm thinking of having some sort of dome to cover the laser defense systems on the weapon sponsons when not in use or from bad weather, etc.
I tried looking on Shapeways, but there's nothing there to my liking.
I found the below pics of some sort of clamshell dome that retracts or closes to cover a laser system.
Anybody have any ideas/suggestions on where I can either buy something that is similar or how to scratch build them?

The device you showed looked like some sort of astronomy setup.
You could make rounded off rod and then heat some polystyrene and smash mold it.
