Oh, I wasn't the only one to make that association, then :)

A propos:

I must have seen season one of Good Omens but I have little memory of it.  The book on the other hand I have read many times.

If season two is upon us I must rewatch season one.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I've not seen the serial, but have read the book many times   I have a hardback for home and a paperback for when traveling.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I've read the book more than I've seen the series, but I did think the series was a very good adaptation — down to many scenes and entire bits of dialogue being basically exactly the same. Sure, things were changed, but it's more or less at the opposite end of the spectrum from, say, any random James Bond movie adapted from a novel ;)

The series has inspired a new release of the book with the actors as part of the cover illustration here in the UK. Hopefully introduce a new generation to Terry and Neil's works

So, deadlines have passed and i picked this up today.

Started assembling and painting the last of the fiddley bits (fuel tanks, tools, spare track, cable) so I can attach them before finalising the weathering.

SU-76c

Su-76c - 16 by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr

The SU-76c  (c = cheshskiy meaning czech) was conceived as a stop gap vehicle built on captured German Panzer 38t hulls.  They were built because, while speeding up their huge production of tanks, the Red Army still faced a shortage of Tank Destrpyers. Furthermore, the original SU-76 model had several flaws. They were unreliable and not a pleasure to drive, so much so the Soviet tankers named it "the Bitch". The Soviets had captured many Panzer 38t tank chassis in relatively good condition so, with the thought of rearming them with bigger Soviet guns, they were shipped back to Factory 23 at Zenratovlosk where a replacement casemate was welded in place carrying a 76.2mm S-1 Anti Tank Gun.

Small but packing a decent punch the size of the SU-76c can be seen here in comparison to a KV-1 and an SU-122.

That looks very plausible Fred, but what do I know about tanks?  :-\
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

That's come out really well Fred

Well gents some info for ya'll  ..the russians did this same deal but on a captured Panzer 3 hull  and it was called the SU-76 l 😉
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

zenrat

Thanks folks.

The resin conversion was designed for a Tamiya PzKpw III which is significantly wider than the PzKpw 38t.  I knew this but didn't realise just how tiny a tank it was until I had finished and sat it between the SU-122 and the KV-1.
