Like the idea of a BPF Mauler Lee, overall midnight blue if down that path ?

I prefer the immediate post war FAA scheme of EDSG over Sky with the low demarcation, but can't quite see how the Mauler would get it ? If the war had dragged on then some could have ended up with the Home Fleet I suppose ?

Hmmm I think somewhere you posted that the Spanish got Jumo engines for their He-IIIs' (OK it was an answer to my post IIRC). So Mules in Spain as no Griffon engines 

You mean the CASA 2111? That was a post-WWII He 111 with Rolls-Royce Merlin 500s, because the original Jumo 211s were not available anymore.

Yes, they got them from France post war, about 100 engines but they were unreliable, so they used overhauled German engines too, with each aircraft having one German and one French engine to ensure reliability.

Interesting piece about the Ar 199 Lee. Just shows that you should always try and use multiple references whenever researching a project. if available However you then have to make a decision and indeed a lot of authors of historical subjects of all kinds will admit that their piece is a "best guess based on the available information", and fresh information is always coming to light. Just look at the history of Ancient Egypt if you want to see that.
