 Chris is right, it is an interesting piece! Ar199 is not an aircraft I knew anything about, so I went off to look it up,  and I will be most intrigued to see your take on it.

I tend to regard authors who admit that their work is  a "best guess based on the available information" as  a lot more  reasonable and quite probably more reliable than those who make  definitive pronouncements.

Incidentally, Lee, the fact that I don't often reply to matters raised in your blogs  isn't through lack of interest....I do read your posts with interest, thank you for making them..... but I work on the basis that "If  I've nothing useful to contribute I say nothing";  unlike so many pundits, personalities and politicians.

They had that much stuff left by the Luftwaffe, let alone the ex-soviet garbage, that you could stick almost anything in Spanish markings and not be far off.
