Dusting this one off yet again. Seeing as I have some making up to do in regards to this thread, here's a couple of the most recent (as of tonight) of where I am up to.

I'm over half way done on the left hand side but now that I've added some extra plating on this side, I'll have to do the same on the other side and also the top plate. I have to go careful that I don't extend the shelf too far out or all the detail work will be lost which is why I will be installing SMD's on both levels.

Up until 2 nights ago it was looking like this:





And now it looks like this:





And a couple of close ups. Bear in mind, the detailing is not yet finished as I need to blend the parts in more which I will do over the course of the next couple of weeks









Hopefully you can see where I'm going with it. Once it's primed etc, it'll look totally different and much more cohesive

Once again confirming that you're a complete nutter, but in a good way!  

Just wait till I start adding in the micro details to balance it out. What I envisage will make the SD look basic. I know I keep jumping way ahead of myself by talking about the end result, but I believe  (hope like heck ) that this will be something else to look at.
At the end of the day, I know its just a modified model kit of a Star destroyer which anyone can do, so that's why I am investing the huge amount of time, resources, effort and time into making the base. I want it to be as engrossing and as visually appealing as the main subject itself (lol, as if the general public would even think of this as much more than the product of someone with too much time on their hands  ) .
Man, this whole build had better meet mine and your expectations. Im up to a total count of over 260k views over 4 forums, so the pressure is there. I know that's a pitance when compared to many SM platforms, but seeing as forums are literally my only online presence, it's a big deal for me personally.
Wow, that was a lot of seemingly self pitiful talk,  but rest assured, I am not fishing for comments. I am just a realist. 

I can't get over how small it all is.  I had it in my head that the SD was at least a metre long.

Don't think about the general public, or model show punters, or forum viewers.  Just build for yourself.

As long as it meets (or, at least, gets close to) your expectations it'll be more than good enough for me!

I should be nearly finished the mid left side this weekend and then it'll be the right side - which I thought I had finished but since I was doing more on the left than the right, I have to now even it out some. Won't be a issue, but it is a time set back.
