Ah, it's a 1:48 build!? Sorry, did not get that... In 1:72 there are also resin Griffons (OzMods?) with underslung radiators available, IIRC for a Lincoln, and their diameter is almost the same as an R-2800...

Avro Shackleton installations aren't particularly pretty.

... do you happen to have a need for late model Spitfires or Seafires that need a different engine ...

I wish someone did Kit...would be a very cool thing to add to a 48th scale bomber collection.
Size wise ..it would about the same size as a Tamiya  Lancaster.

I'm not sure what a Tigercat would like tho with Shackleton props..those could be to bloody big.

Not quite. Annular radiators are best known from the Fw.190D/Ta.152 & Ju.88** aircraft & are where the radiator is mounted around the propeller shaft.

Sanger does the Avro Shackleton in 1/48 scale: MR.1, MR.2 AEW.2 and and the MR.3. The vacform kits come with metal parts and decals.
They also do the Shackleton in 1/72 scale as well.

Mac I would hate to think of the cost for that model in 48th..the 72nd Shackleton is expensive enough here as it is ...but man it would be a damn cool thing to add to  collection 😊

Right to this build....took the pre start pics which I'll put up next week .
Made a start by gluing the wings together and the landing gear bays.
Now some thinking is going on here..im using the original landing gear bays because of a couple of things...mounting the Griffons on to where the old engines where ..it would make sense to keep the original land gear as it's a bloody expensive and time consuming job to have to design..build..test and test a brand new landing gear just because of a engine swap.
The second thing is now a right pain in my arse..because now I've done myself no favors at all...ive gotta try to blend the Griffons onto the original engine mounts and make it look good.
I've been trying to think of ways to do it and 3 hrs later ...nope nothing yet 😕

Right ..pics to follow next week..update time.
The engines are mounted..PSRed and the wings will soon be attached to the fuselage.
Painted the cockpit so I could glue the sides together.
It's not going to be long before this thing ends up with  paint on it.
