Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Definitely a thing of brutal beauty 😍
Lovely build Fred 👌 😀
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Great build sir, definitely a looker

Quote from: zenrat on June 14, 2023, 04:35:54 AMDefinitely an easier build than the OOB MkII.

Virtually anything would be an easier build than that  :-\
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thanks folks.

Yes, that is cutting thigs a tad fine!  :o  :o  :o

Possibly, although I am sure Dizz and AirplaneDriver could both have knocked out another build in the time I had left...

This has given me an idea for the Re-Engine It GB - I have an ancient Frogspawn Typhoon IB and one of Freightdog Colin's conversions.....

New Pics.

Hawker Eagle Tempest.  FAEC.  Batista AAF 1953.

Eagle Tempest 2 - - 1 by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr

The Hawker P.1027 was a Tempest variant powered by the Rolls Royce Eagle 22 engine.  Only built in small numbers they never served with Britain's armed forces but rather helped the UK's balance of trade by being sold overseas.  Users included Australia, Portugal, Laos, and Cuba.

Eagle Tempest 2 - - 25 by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr

Top speed of the Eagle Tempest was 510 mph, with a rate of climb of 6,400 ft/min.  Service ceiling was 42,000 ft.

The aircraft shown is in the colours of the Fuerza Aerea Ejercito de Cuba (Cuban Army Air Force) as it looked when stationed at Batista Army Airfield (now known as San Antonio de los Baños Airfield).  It was captured intact during the Revolution and later, repainted in Fuerza Aérea Revolucionaria de Cuba (Cuban Revolutionary Airforce) colours, played a part in repelling the US backed landings in the Bay of Pigs.  Sharp eyed readers may notice that the San Antonio de los Baños area of Cuba bears a marked similarity to parts of the great state of Victoria.

That really looks great. The paint pattern is pretty cool!

Belated congratulations for this great beauty enhancement (the P.1027 being a million times prettier than the Mk5) ;)
