Quote from: AeroplaneDriver on June 15, 2023, 08:57:37 PMSo SWMBO got home today from a few days away pursuing one of her hobbies.  She stayed briefly before leaving to go and see the musical Kinky Boots with friends...about an hour away...in the only town anywhere in our area with a truly great model shop.  God love her before she leaves she asks if I want her to stop by and get anything for me!

So I have restocked a few Vallejo and Tamiya paints AND she picked up a Revell 1/72 Sea Vixen and a Kitty Hawk 1/48 Mirage F.1B.

Where do you find a partner like that?
After reading that I'm wondering the exact same thing 🤔.

I've got one like that, and even after nearly 37 years, I'm still wondering how I managed it!

Don't analyze it too closely, just say "Thank You' and get on with things...  ;)

Quote from: Wardukw on June 15, 2023, 09:33:24 PMIn the mail today was my Amt A-20 and my TA-154 ..2 aircraft I've wanted for a very long time ⌛️.
Already know the A-20 is in for a engine swap..from R-2600s to R-2800s ..a very nice power upgrade  ;D
You might find this pair of links of use:
Curtiss - Wright Engine Specs 1930 - 1983
R-2600 starts on page 13.

Index of Double Wasp and R-2800 Engines

One thing to note is that even the shortest of the production R-2800s is still over ten inches longer
than the R-2600-11 most commonly used in the A-20 series. Also the R-2800s are heavier.

Thanks for your help back in August last year Chris in giving me the information to turn a K-6 into a K-14, Now that K-6 is likely to become a K-10.

I just heard Tony Robinsons voice in my head Chris 😃😃
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

I was 30  ;D  You can get the pilot on-line. Baldrick was played by Philip Fox not Tony Robinson.

Brian Blessed as Edmund's father in the first series was awesome.

Model Expo today.  Lots of purchases.  Mostly from the Swamp and Smell.

Best one was this...

General Lee 01 by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr

...A sealed original issue ('79) 1/25 MPC General Lee.  I won't reveal what I paid for it but it was worth it because  it has these...

General Lee 02 by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr

...the last things I need to build my General.  I could print the flag transfers (removed from some later versions of the kit) on white decal paper but not the name or numbers which have white borders (well I could, but i'm not up to the ultra accurate trimming I would have to do round the letters).  I already had a set of wheels but these have much better chrome.  Note the lovely orange plastic the kit is moulded in.
This release, being an early one, still had the incorrect Charger 500 body without the buttresses around the rear window.

I can justify what I spent on the General by what I saved on the aircraft.

All aircraft are 1/72 (what else?)

KP Avia B.35.  Transfers are toast.  $5

KP Skoda D.10.  Transfers are toast and the box has been sat on but all parts are intact.  $5

Williams Brothers Northrop Gamma.  Transfers are probably toast.  Second engine and three bladed prop are missing but i've wanted one of these.  $15

Pegasus Albatros W4 seaplane fighter.  Transfers are toast and the box has been sat on but all parts are intact including the white metal engine and other parts.  Worth it just for the floats.  $5
Monogram Tigercat F7F-3.  Transfers are toast.  It's a very basic model but the way the nacelles are completely separate from the wings makes it prime for re-engineing.  $10
Italeri Messerschmitt Me 110 G4/R3 Nacht Jäger.  With aftermarket transfers.  This will donate its wings to an Me 109 fuselage as discussed elsewhere.  $15
Bagged Hobby Holding Yak 15.  Transfers are toast.  $2
Bagged Nakotne Polikarpov I-3.  No transfers.  $2
Bagged unknown biplane.  No transfers, no instructions, no prop blades, no idea what it is (but at this price good whiff fodder).  Anyone care to guess its identity?  $2
Unknown Biplane by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr

1/35 Zvezda Pak 36 with crew.  Ideal for mounting on something it would never actually have been mounted on. $15
1/35 loaded wheel set for Meng Toyota Hilux.
Flem Green static grass
1/35 Grass Trees
1/35 boot print stamps
Two bags of assorted untouched transfer sheets.  Some 1/72, some 1/48.  Lots of usefull stuff (including quite a few Australian flags).  $5 each

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.
