And it's still on paper and in Latin  ;)
Don't tell me you can read Latin  Chris ???  :o

No, but it adds to the mystery for when The Book is discovered by some future historian, or even Archaeologist if I take it with me, and they think that they've discovered some ancient pseudo religious cult

Oh, the Book is initially typed into a file on my PC before an on-line tool translates it for me to transcribe onto parchment.  Numerous copies of the original typed document are kept for reference purposes so don't think you will be forgotten Mr Z  ;) , but The Book is The Book
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Oh I can only imagine an archeologists getting their hands on The Book...the first question would be "what is a Zenrat ?"

I was thinking of exactly the same thing!!  But we'd better say no more or  we will rate another entry in The Book

I used to be able to read & write Latin quite well in high school but, as I haven't used it in any way near regularly since, I'm basically illiterate in it now.

I'm sure you said the archived copy was carved into tablets of stone...............

Don't you have a vellum feeder on your printer?

I remember seeing "Injection is nice..." tee shirts and iron-on patches for sale in the back pages of Custom Car magazines back in the early eighties.  The sort of magazines which usually had a centrefold featuring a topless "model" draped over the car and which I had to hide from my mother.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

But I cannot see the photos...  :-\
Even if I know those would be close-up of Shackleton rivets...
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Quote from: mat on June 06, 2023, 02:18:26 PMThe Beauforth GR. Mk. III was a proposed version with Merlin XXs engines. They would have raised the top speed from 423 km/h to 508 km/h but the range would have been reduced by 65 km, The Mk. III were never built.

Interesting, that could help my backstory - when I get started, need clear the bench of a prototype RN/RAE "See Tempest" complete with torpedo....

Granatelli Lotus 56 re-engined with a turbocharged Ford DOHC Indy V-8, which is not a Cosworth it's a completely
different Ford designed and built engine.

The 1/25th AMT Olsonite Eagle kit has the DOHC Indy engine, non-turbo configuration, as an option so a swap with
the ST6 in the 1/25th STP Lotus Turbine kit is pretty straightforward.

Foyt took over the engine after Ford went Cosworth.

That wouldn't be the 427ci DOHC enjng would it Jon ?

Nope, the famous 427 "Cammer" is a SOHC design.

427 Cammer

DOHC Indy V-8
Originally it had a displacement of 255 in3, in the turbocharged version this was reduced to 159 in3.

Wardukw

Ahhh that's the bugga..if I had a collection of engines for display I'd hunt down a cammer for damn sure.

...and I have two Lotus 56 kits and more than a few Ford 255 DOHC engines too.  ;)

Didn't we have a discussion about this some years ago Jon?

We did indeed Kit.

The Lotus 64 was developed from the 56 using the 255 and the Ferguson drive train, but a 56 with the
Ford would be a different kettle of fish.

Not directly connected to engine swaps, but a wonderful site on the development of the Grand Prix engine,
very good information for the folks with a general interest and great for those of us who like the technical
stuff. It's good fodder for imagination.
