DTM cars had 4.0 l V(s at best, and the Opel cars never were really successful... The Lotus Omega might have been an alternative for the streets, though?

Yup ..my bad ..I was testing you lot and Dizzy won
Even as a race engine it did kinda  suck but it would make good starter for a street car...get rid of the problematic fuel system and go with a up to date off the shelf EFI set up and so on.
Retuned to run on pump fuel ...keep the dry sump..nothing new there.
Without having the strain of racing to worry about and the right work in the right places it could be turned into a pretty good engine.
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

This time around made wider and longer ..id keep the pro- file but stretch out to make it sleaker.
Also the benefits of extra length means ppl over 6ft would fit inside the bloody thing.
Making it wider just has benefits everywhere...room..performance and most importantly pure looks.
I'd even keep the flip over head lights. ;D

Soooo....a 70's Corvette? lol

Shhhhh .🤫🤫...shut up Devil dude   ;D .. I was hoping nobody would pick on the extremely close similarities these two cars have in their appearance...the GT looks like a compressed Vette

I was also thinking of another engine which would for the common sense side of things.
The twin turbo V8 from a Audi RS6 ..now this is a good engine .

The Panther 6,daft idea of having six wheels on a street car. Different size tyres. A cool car. 😎

But it's not a GM engine................
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

No it's not Kit and with good reason..this is a European car and I don't want some slow revving engine in it ..I want s euro engine in it ..anything but a bloody LS ..they are everywhere.

Not really interested in cars at all but, I'd make an exception for the Batmobile from Batman Begins"! As Lt Gordon said ; "I have GOT to get me one of those"! ;D
Hates rivet counters! Eats JMNs for breakfast!

GM Europe (aka Opel and Vauxhall) did some decent engines. Retropower shows what can be done with them:

My Signum's V6 turbo revs to 6500 and produces its max power at just under 6000, works for me.  ;D

Rheged

Parked in the Cathedral close at Hereford this morning (in the Dean's reserved space)  an absolutely immaculate black Citroen light 15.  I wouldn't object were someone to offer me one!

Do they still have the stupidly heavy flywheel on the V6?  The one on my 2.5 was 15kg!!  Got a lightweight 2.0 turbo (ZLET) flywheel to go on it, which might actually be going too far in the opposite direction, lol

This Guy did it ... a perfect 1:1 Replica of the sdkfz 222 , in a Defender Chassis with 3,5 V8 .

I don't know, I've never taken it off, and with that WELL stuffed engine compartment I never will either! But it's an auto, so maybe has a different set-up down stream of the crankshaft.

It shows no reluctance to rev, and manages to be scourge the of any and all BMWs around the Forest of Dean.  ;D  ;)
