i have a 1/72 Revell Heinkel He70 Blitz in my stash (reboxed matchbox kit), and these come with both a BMW inline engine and a Gnome-Rhone 14K Radial engine. ive been playing with the idea of fitting the radial engine to a FW190, but the difference would not be all that great.
might try fitting it to a Hawker Hurricane or Gloster Gladiator.

I have an idea brewing in my head. It involves the Fujimi F-14 I started some decades ago which comes with a pair of engines on a stand. If I still have those then I can add them to something.

That something could be a small boat or truck.  ;D

A Hurricane with a radial engine is very different and would be ugly as sin I think ..so it's perfect 🥰

Alvis had a license for the Gnome-Rhone 14K series and they developed the 14-cylinder 1,000hp Pelides from the 14K. It was first run in 1937 but they couldn't generate any contracts with the Air Ministry or the airlines so the project was dropped.

The base Pelides was medium supercharged with a single-speed supercharger, the proposed Pelides Major was to be fully supercharged. Medium vs. full supercharging refers to the crankshaft to impeller speed ratio. The Pelides passed a 50-hour Air Ministry test in 1937 producing a maximum of 1,065 hp, only fifteen were built before being cancelled.

Radial Hurricane is interesting, tried one working on the concept of the RAAF using common engines for a lot of aircraft to streamline maintenance, so a Pratt and Whitney Twin Wasp.

PR19_Kit

I like that radial Hurricane, even though I'm a big 'normal Hurricane' fan.

That engine fit would have made a lot of sense in Oz at the time.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

OGL did one a good few years back I seem to recall.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The Wooksta!

That would likely have been the Czech Omega kit. They did various odd Hurricanes, the proposed Hercules version among them. I've a few tucked away.

It's a really horrible build, trust me. I have one on the go right now and I really wish I hadn't bothered.
