Looks good.

Putting vinyl tyres in the freezer can make it easier to clean them up.

Some weathering applied. I'll clean it up/tie it together and add some gray chips (to represent the underlying aluminum) tomorrow. The mechanic figure is a 3D scan from ReedOak. The cargo bits are from Miniart and Meng. They're just there to get a sense of the cargo space:

That's looking much better mate 👍
Once the fine weathering is sorted this is going to look great Frank 😀
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Thanks, Phill!

I'm calling this one done. I'm not happy with the results - although it's mainly my fault. Rather than study the kit construction in detail, I jumped in and wasted far too much time and motivation on the engine and chassis, which are just not visible. I also used the wrong pigments for weathering and didn't get the results I wanted. Short of repainting, there wasn't much I could do without damaging the underlying paint job

Top view, with some useful bits in the cargo area and our French buddy for scale:

Front view :

The dirty shop towel is a square of paper shop towel. I took a red car the Mojave once - same trip where "Buster" Burris fixed my tire - when I got back home, the red car looked orange from all the dust. It probably would have looked like this if I'd stayed in the desert longer:

It's 47C/116F in Amboy today, 212 miles/341 km from here. It's only 77F/25C on the patio, but I could feel the heat through my socks.

Absolutely lovely build!

Might be a bit dirtier than you intended but it still looks good.

Well done.

There's an aftermarket light kit for it (as with most things Lego now)

Well, I think it looks good!

But it needs some sort of virulent green to finish it off; I have no idea why but almost every old Land Rover I've ever seen, no matter what the environment, always seems to have some bright green mould /moss growing in the gutters of the roof & along the ledges of the bodywork. Weird! :o

Could be somewhere under the fenders, and out of the Mojave sun.

Guy ya think the mold is attracted to the seals or sealants used I between the body panels ?

Now to what I do know aboot   ;D
Frank if you're washes or paints are enamel gently brushing will clean em up and then you can blend it into the body colour to get what your looking for..if it's oil paint it's even easier to do .
Love oils for weathering.
Same it's all alloy cause of was steel I'd send the model to Guy so he do his rust painting on it..he's bloody brilliant at it
Oh by the way..its a  lovely build mate 👌 👍

Nice job on that!

Another as Mater's Cousin from across the Pond would be a hoot!
Hmm... maybe a use for the old Heller Bobcat version I have...

Phill, was it you wanting a 1/24 version? IIRC Italeri did one back in the day...

Yup, here it is right here - but the price!!  :banghead:

This...

...is a new Revell mould.  Not a repopped Italeri one.
By all accounts it is rather nice - although I have not inspected one personally.

My Mazda has moss growing on it along the window rubbers on the side that is always next to the fence when its parked.

Still Fred it might be pretty sweet but at $96 nz is a bloody steep price for something I want to modify the hell out off.

Ooooh, I could build a model of our moble lab with that one! Does anyone do a model of a 1/24 Honda Generator?
