Tophe used a Bell 206 fuselage but I'm using a Matchbox Bk 117 because that's what I had on hand. It will be combined with a P-82 with the cockpits removed. All in 1/72nd scale.
I feel very proud to have influenced the creation of this marvel, thanks!

You have more influence than you think. Many of your images have at least made me think about what I should build next. This one said, "build me"!

Thanks everyone!!
I was just looking at Draw Decals and their collection of US Forest Service and Cal Fire markings. I have the USFS set for the Cobra in my last pic and I will probably go with Cal Fire on this build. I just can't decide over the OV-10 set or the S-2T set.

Seems like that might be a good way of getting quick castings.

Artificial lighting doesn't affect the resin. Sunlight on a clear day cures it very fast. The UV flashlight takes longer but gets the job done. Sunlight in the winter seems to take a long time or the resin gets cold and doesn't react.

Thanks for the info, it's helpful.

All I've used it for so far is one sided molds where one side is completely exposed to the UV light. The craft stores sell clear silicone molds for making ornaments and such with objects imbedded inside. I've not tried to make a clear mold yet. I would have to find a silicon material that's UV transparent.

I'll probably go with the Bronco set like you say. It will require a few alterations.

Well when you compare the two they are quite similar in their general layout.

I made an insert for the tail plane. I must have done something right because it fit perfectly.

I added a third rudder as the cabin added a lot of side area to the aircraft. I made it from a loose F-86 fin. I made the outline of it as close to the P-82 tail as possible

I calculated the insert to have one seam on the center line to give me an easy way to align the new rudder and to be able to hide at least one of them. I'm working on blending in the cabin to the P-82 wing. I also made nose wheel well doors.

Perfect yes!
The F-86 comes from North American designs like the P-82, of the same time, this explains the similarity maybe. <_<

Plenty of sanding to get it just right. But it did make me think of the Mustang tail when I saw it in the spare parts box.
