It's an Austin and a follow on to the Austin K2/Y Ambulance that was released last year, same chassis and front end.

1/35th Austin K2/Y

And that sums up my knowledge of WWII softskins!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

But if ya took the cab from the Chevy and stuck on the K2 chassis then you'd have something quite different 😉
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Mossie

They're both 30 cwt, so same thing right???  ;D

And you could put the K2 in SAS service. My cock-up has provided two whiffs already!  ;D

All kinds of possible vehicle options and mashups for LRDG/SAS/Rat Patrol.  ;)

The earliest LRDG trucks were locally procured 1 1/2 ton Chevys that were field modified before the purpose
built machines became available from Canada. Those vehicles used the same chassis as the Chevrolet version
of the CMP and were referred to as the MCP Modified Conventional Pattern.

1939 or 1940 1 1/2 ton Chevy, note the left-hand drive and deeper front wheels (rear outers?).

Got my update from the Airfix Club today and apparently the planned re-release of the Bond Bug in the Vintage Classics range is looking like the most successful ever. Pre-orders have just about equaled the production run.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

PR19_Kit

I've got two on order already.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

The Wooksta!

Having had a test fit with their current tool He 111, it seems to be that given the way it's broken down, Airfix could get a Merlin engined CASA 2.111 out of it.
Could sell reasonably well, especially if it had Luftwaffe markings from The Battle of Britain film.

Blasted DPD tried to deliver my Bugs today, but as I'm not there they ignored my instructions to leave them in my 'special place' and took them away again!

Neither DPD's web site, email nor phones work at all, after numerous attempts! So I wrote a rude email to Airfix and said 'Don't EVER send stuff to me by DPD ever again as they're USELESS'!  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Oh, good! It looks like I should be able to tweak that boxing into a RAN Mk.50*!

Are all their new models going to be 1/48 in future?

Also on the Airfix front, I ordered two of the re-popped Bond Bug kits, but actually getting them is a NIGHTmare! Airfix's courier company is DPD and a more useless and dis-functional operation would be difficult to find! They've made no less then FOUR attempts to deliver the Bugs, but totally ignored my instructions where to leave them. I tried re-defining the place to leave them on the DPD website, but the site didn't work. I tried emailing them and that didn't work. I tried PHONING them and that failed as well! I emailed Airfix and told them what I thought about DPD, and they said THEY'D tell DPD where to leave the kits.

DPD ignored them and this morning Airfix phoned ME! There was a frank and free exchange of views and they said they'd ensure they were delivered correctly.

I await results................
