So it was, sorry.  :banghead:

Luckily in the model railway world there's no difference, even though British models are 1/76 scale and European ones are 1/87.

Don't ask, it's VERY complicated..................

I've checked the track with the running gear of Evening Star and looks like it will fit just right.
Thinking about it, each sleeper will need painting and all the little rocks in the (moulded) ballast.

Not necessarily.  On a heavily travelled line they would end up the same colour - filthy!

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I was scrambling over an abandoned railway track on Saturday afternoon - all in the name of research  ;)

You are right, mostly black with some brown and grey bits in. Thankfully there's plenty of photographic evidence out there for the 1970s railway scene.

Depends how accurate it is. British track would have BS Workington rolled/moulded followed by a serial number into the side of the rail as that's where they were produced. Continental producers would have had done similar, and no I can't remember which mills produced their track off hand. Rail production was quite parochial and during my time people didn't seem to want to compete with each other. They always saw themselves as being somehow slightly above the ordinary mills. Almost a "Band of Brothers".

And yes I am being flippant, but only slightly so  ;)

I still have one of the early issue Vietnam turreted versions earmarked to do one of these... maybe I should have waited... there again, nah - I'm stubborn and Bl00dy-Minded like that... ;D

That reminds me! I do have one of these, too:

The Wooksta!

Was given an Airfix Fw 189. It's getting either Argus As 411s to do the Fw 189F or some post French engines.  Haven't decided which yet. Either way, Luftwaffe colours and markings with RAF markings over the top.

I've wanted to get one of these for ages and fit it out with a Vulcan turret from a M163 but I keep forgetting about it as other ideas keep pushing it aside  ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .

Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

And the T-50 turret can go onto a Kiwi M-113! More accurate than the Academy turret...

Forgot to mention another score last night ..got a fixed price offer from a seller on trademe for a Hobbyboss 1/48th Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a/U4.
$25 notes ..yes please and thank ya muchly  ;D
I have an idea for a conversion and the 262 I'd brought ages ago I thought would do..I couldn't have been more wrong..it is absolutely terrible..nothing is good about it ..so I looked at the Hobbyboss one I got in my 10 plane haul..a million times better so I'll use that one but of course it's such a nice a kit I needed another..can't say no for 25 bucks  ;D
Also scored a OIOICIO 1/48 Arado Ar-234..again..cheap and probably quick bad ..could be useful for something and it's a twin 😀

The Wooksta!

Snaffled another He 111H on the bay of E.  Going to end up Spanish, possibly a water bomber and perhaps with turboprops rather than Merlins.

Then I found an MPM group Fw 58, but the one with the glass nose, which is one I wanted.  Whilst the He 111B nose would fit, it's not quite right.

I catched two of them yesterday ,  Airfix and another brand, must have a look , I  like the glasshouse very much .
6€ for both seems okay .

And two different tanks in 1:48 with segment chains, they would have a nice size to build something in 1:72 .
That scale is not so often on the market in germany .
It's a Land Rover, NOT a Jeep . Like a Jeep, but for gentlemen.
