The underslung scoops are a good look, you'll need downdraft carbs. The most common on the B-26 series was
the Bendix-Stromberg PT-13F1 pressure carburetor, PTD-13F1 would be a downdraft version.


Sheet 6 of John Alcorn's A-20 drawings, he did the drawings before he made his brilliant scratchbuilt 1/32nd scale
A-20. Note the cowling profile and 60" diameter. I was lucky enough to see the original drawings and the model
at Alcorn's house in Seattle, I was there a few times. He still had a P-38 model he had built as a boy during WWII,
it's a beautiful piece of work in the accuracy of shape and finish. Made more gobsmacking by the fact that he was
12 at the time.

Comparing photos of A-20 vs. B-25 engine installations it's clear that the B-25 cowling is much tighter to
the engine than that of the A-20 and is tapered over its length rather than being almost parallel sided as
in the A-20 cowling. The Italeri cowling actually has too great of a taper when compared to the real thing.

According to an NAA/USAAF technical manual the nose ring of the B-25 cowling is actually semi-permanently 
attached to the rocker boxes of the fwd. row of cylinders by components that are designed to expand as the
engine heats up. Which is one of the factors that allowed a closer cowling installation.

Ah, now I finally know what that air scoop inside of the nacelles is for on the A-20! 

Painting has started! As mentioned earlier, the options for a more or less realistic USAAF night fighter in Europe are very limited, and as mentioned earlier I adopt a P-61 scheme (all-black) with Invasion Stripes, even though the latter hastily overpainted on the upper surfaces to improve camouflage on the ground - a measure that was applied to some P-47 and early P-51s (in NMF, though) after D-Day. It adds an interesting twist to the black aircraft.
