Quote from: AeroplaneDriver on August 14, 2023, 01:16:21 PMIIRC the new wings were one of the main reasons it was binned.  With the originals being "hand crafted" individually the new CAD designed wings all built to the same tolerances had problems fitting.  Basically each airframe needed a custom made set of wings.

But the new wings weren't very different from the old ones shapewise, right? Obviously with the exception for the new engine installation. Or have I gotten it all wrong?

Not sure if this qualifies. Found this on Facebook:

Maybe Tophe did a bashing job in real live?

The formerly Ukrainian fan club of alternathistory.org has apparently "changed side"s, after having been down for weeks, and has re-emerged as a Russian website.
And they adopted zenrat's recent and very neat 1:48 Su-76c build (from FlickR); check this translated post:

It was a totally new wing design with a significantly bigger wing.  I think wingspan was over 10 feet longer.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Hey Zenrat! You're a colleague! A western one, but still a colleague. And Old Wombat made it onto the list too! The Ukrainian Merkava is in there but they didn't wait for the finished pics with the white winter camo. At least you both were credited for your builds.
It looks like they specialize in WW2 Russian vs German stuff or Russian vs Ukrainian. If I build a T-72 being towed by a John Deere tractor do you think I'll get to be a colleague too?

In the not to distant future I've got a Ukrainian build in mind of a T72 hull with a T90 turret ..detailed of course and damaged ..the damaged parts is what I call Not worth fixing damage.
Think I'll even fit it with T90 tracks and drive sprocket.

Heh heh heh.  How about that.
I wonder what they made of the PDRV insignia on the SU-122?

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
