And the dihedral tailplane is a essential inspiration too!

Many thanks, grafted on some trusty ball-point pen plastic cut with a hot knife  ;D

Cool, didn't know it was called a dihedral tailplane, just wanted to keep it out of the way  ;D  (I need to brush-up on my aeronautics knowledge/lingo ;D)

RW here equals Real World.  In most cases anyway  ;)

Vostoc mate that's looking bloody cool man..a excellent Lanc in the making 👏 👌
Donkeys yrs back jet engines were fitted to a Lancaster as a test bed ..very similar to yours except that bird only had 2 jets ..2 piston engines .
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

VOSTOC , your engines are right on my line, looks perfect .
It's a Land Rover, NOT a Jeep . Like a Jeep, but for gentlemen.

Works well on the Avro Shackleton wings, a Avro Shackleton powered by the jet engines from the North American B-45 in blue. I'm sure that it would work well on the Lancaster. Good luck with your build. If you need any inspiration here's something that I have built.

Those jet engines look perfect for the Lanc, if I had the time & cash that would be the way to go   Good job I still like my Merlinesque jets  ;D  ;D

The pair of jet engines came off a 1/72 Fairchild-Republic A-10A Thunderbolt II aka Warthog.

If you could round off those Merlin's it would be more like that test bed aircraft but you said you like the Merlin look so go for it! And some quick building there too.
