Problem with the doors is they are too large for the holes.  More than just paint thickness large.  I had to sand the rebates on the door to get it to sit inside the hole.
I say door not doors because i am posing the drivers door open.

I'll be ready to paint the body and cab soon.  Chassis, interior, and underside are dark blue but i'm thinking red for the rest.  Idea is an ex navy or RAF truck sold off and repainted by the new owner.

It struck me today (while PSRing an Me 109 fitted with Me 110 engines) that whiffing makes us better modellers.
The skills needed to kitbash, scratchbuild, and generally buggerise stuff are so much more than we would have if we just followed the instructions.
A bit like life I guess.

EXACTLY!

Something which magazine review kit builders never seem to understand.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Today, in addition to the GB stuff I have been converting a 1/25 Subaru Brumby (Brat in other markets) to RHD and fitting a 1/24 RHD Toyota dash into a '70 Chevelle SS454.
The Brumby is going to be a RW Australian market car.  There is one just around the corner I can go and look at if I need to.
The Heavy Chevy on the other hand is going to be 4wd with giraffe skin paint.  Using the Toyota dash was a moment of "whiffers intuition".  The remains of the model were next to the bench (ants had nested in it and in the process of drowning them I had f**ked the model) and something told me the dash would fit the Chevelle.  Normally swapping a dash from one model car to another is a PitA due to relative widths and the curvature of the inside of the windscreen but in this case all i've had to do is chamfer the lower dash.  Even the centre console appears to fit.  Bonza!

You couldn't be more correct Fred....what other model builders can have an idea no matter how warped or difficult  can make it real..wiff builders ...we simply do things other builders can't  ..could be they don't have the skills or the imagination ..or both but man I love being able to do what we do  ;D

I don't have the skills to do half of what I imagine.  But I like to try.

Same same here to mate...and as I like to think if I don't try I don't know .
Least I don't have grandiose ideas I know I can't do unlike modellers on a few other sites I've seen and none were wiff builders.
I like what we do much more .

..which, I think, is why I find myself more amused than annoyed by the absolute and relentless refusal of any kind of cooperation of my Amodel Yak-28. Nothing even remotely fits. And yet, once you figure out how to make it fit, the result looks great! And I'm having a ball en route. Just adding one piece to another Hasegawa style can be calming, but fighting a bit for a result is good fun! Plus the fact that I can always blame the kit for any mistakes and misalignments.  ;)

I'd agree up to a point. Not all Whiffers go for butchery, there are many who'll simply just switch the decals.  It's not quite as clear cut, because there are a lot of good cut and shuts that just don't make sense (other than "it looks cool") and lots of quick and dirty repaint and redecals that do.
It all boils down to the thinking behind it, and sadly, a lot of the new wave just doesn't get it.

Arrrrrgh.  Internet not working for 10 days.  F**king ISP support service is sh*t.  It's taken three calls to them and everytime they try and make us go through the basic fault finding from scratch.   :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:
They treat you like you are simple and/or lying to them.
 :banghead:

Sorry, had too vent.  Just spent all morning on call #3 but finally they have agreed that maybe, just possibly it might be a fault outside of my house.  Now i've been telling them this from the start but what do I know.  We had to get a local technician to come in and check everything out at our cost and even then they questioned what I was telling them.
Bunch of c**ts.
