You'll find alot of small scale sets of PE are made of stainless steel..as Jon said ..it's just the strength as those hand rails if they where brass would bend like crazy just handling em .
Brass is fine for 35th and 48th and so on but even then very small 35th scale PE parts can be a PITA to handle...especially hinges ..working ones..ask me how I know     

That's a really nice piece of work in stainless. Best of luck with it 

It's gorgeous.  I want one just for the sake of building one.  I might then find use for it but it's good enough to display just on its own.  Love the toplaps.  I'd want to make some really tiny decals of adult material for the screens.

Now thanks to a deal with another auction on trademe I've won another 48th Monogram Mirage 2000 and of course I got asked this and that and also now there's gonna be 4 more coming along to but these are not complete kits ...and those are ..all Monogram too..

2 x 48th A-4 Skyhawks .
And 1 x 48th B-24 Liberator.
Liberator is missing a clear canopy... F-16 has no landing and the 2  Skyhawks have no canopy or landing gear ..a nice pile of parts 👍

youll be building the F-16 for mounting on a flight stand then?
