Back on the fuel pipes, the method I used at the time was solid core copper Telephone patch wire, using the insulation as the connectors. Very fiddly cutting and stripping but it did look ok. Not as good as this but ok.

Forgot to thank you for that pic, Brian. Not all T-55s have the fuel lines available. They probably look great with some paint on them.

Almost done with the tank; just need some stowage and spare tracks. Story over at BTS posted some images of active but poorly maintained T-55s and the tracks are really loose on those tanks. In comparison, this looks like a well maintained vehicle. I'm debating if I should add another link to droop them some more.

The color almost looks like a faded olive drab after the weathering:

Skull and cross bones also from another random decal sheet:

The fender is just taped on. I'm not sure if I'll keep it.

I'm also working on some figures to go with this.

Fender looks good.  But why would they remove the right one and leave the damaged left?  Better make another...  ;)

Thanks guys. Many of the African T-55s I found online were missing both fenders, had only one fender or had a sheet metal fender on one side or both.

My logic for the left fender: It keeps dust from the tracks from interfering with the driver's view

Real like reason: I used the left fender to practice with the copper foil and didn't feel like repeating it for the other side.

Both got mangled, but the right one far more and was ripped off the tank while the left one wasn't? Or maybe the right one got mangled so far that it actually interfered so the crew pulled it off but because the left one didn't, they kept it on?
... I know all this and more ...

The  T-55A is almost done. I added the DShK. as suggested by Old Wombat, I painted it in Russian green, although it's hard to see in this picture - the Sun was setting behind a structure.  I still need to add more ammo boxes to the tank and replace the antenna and it'll be done.

I also added a tank commander from this Minart set Somewhere on our planet. Sharing a smoke
I'm working on the other figures as well. The two Western soldiers are tall, but not unreasonably so. All the figures have human proportions and stances, unlike most figures from Trumpeter, which are just hopelessly misshapen.

T-55A with its TC:

The tank commander -  he needs some work on the eyes and helmet and some dusting, but he's mostly done. The AK is from the Trumpeter African Freedom Fighters set. The weapon sets are good.
