Like those.  Could do with the T10 to sort out my lumpy lawn.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Still doing small scale targets............

The FV4202 Medium tank No2. aka the 40-ton Centurion.
A test bed developed by Leyland Motors around 1955-56.
It helped in developing what ended up as the Chieftain.

A little 3d print I found on ebay. various acyilc paints for the paint job.

And now bang upto date.

The Genral Dynamics Abrams X concept demonstrator.
This thing has just about every "new"idea in tank warfare added. including a crewless Turret. The 3 man crew all sit in the front hull with the commander and the gunner sitting either side of the driver.
The real thing is in a snazy pale grey and black scheme, I opted for what it might look like as an in service machine. Which is highly unlikely to happen. This thing must have been at least twice what an M1A2, or the upcoming M1A3 are likely to cost per unit.

This is a Cromwell resin kit. the hardest part to build was the weapon station ontop of the turret..........All 5 parts of it
Hataka paints for the most part here.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Gondor

The thing I wonder about with Crewless anything is, what happens if something very simple goes wrong? If you have space to fit someone inside that turret to fix a breakdown then why move them out of there in the first place other than potential crew safety? If there is no room to fit someone inside, how the heck is anyone going to fix it and where are they going to fix it and how much of a workshop will they need?
As you said Martin, probably never going to enter production, just a "what we can do" demonstrator.

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

In short I dont deal with Gordon directly. I get them as and when they appear via AMS. A Glasgow based trader who appears to have gained his trust,
Click Here for their web site. They only have a limited number in stock at any one time, and its first come first served.

Ive been dealing with them for over a year now, and have no complaints at all.
I always hope for the best.

Thanks Martin, much appreciated. I will give the website a coat of looking at.

Nice work there Martin

#939
Three Post Telford reveals. All were finished at least a week before the show, as I followed by usual pre Telford practice of stopping all build activity in the week before the show.....avoids any unnessasry stress or risk to my blood preasure level.

First up a pair of 3d printed American Targets in 1/72nd.

On the left is the AE phase 1 heavy tank concept from the 1950s. and on the right is the T54 E-1 heavy tank prototype from the late 50's / early 60's

The AE Phase 1 came from a German maker on Etsy. And it is easliy one of the best quality 3d prints ive seen so far. this thing was a pleasure to build up. Yes it is a kit.

The T54 came from a Chinese outfit called S & S models off Ebay.com. This was also a kit, but not as many parts as the AE.

Both were painted using Tamiya rattle can for the Olive drab, and decals were robbed from an ECSI M48 for the AE and an ESCI/Italeri M60 for the T54.

And finaly what is only the 2nd aircraft I have built this year.

This a Supermarine Spitfire Courier. a resin conversion mastered by our own TSRjoe. He calls it the Scarab.
Its made to fit the old tool Airfix Spitfire mk1 kit, however. I used a new tool Airfix kit as thats what I had in the stash. It does fit with a little fettling of both the rsein and doner kit.
I came back from the Glasgow show with the first two out of the mould. And with SMW in mind its jumped the to the top of the build list.

The canopy was vac formed by me on the machine I aquired from Cambell several moons ago (he of odds and Ordnance fame) as joe provided a suitable plug for the canopy.
The rest came from the doner kit bar the prop which was robbed from an old tool Airfix Tigermoth..
Paint was a mix of of gunze (upper surfaces) and vallaio (trainer yellow). Decals from the doner kit.
You may notice that the cockpit is bare on this one. That was purly to get this done and dusted as soon as possible. Joe tells me follow up casts will have at least seats included.

My next Scarab (when I get around to it) will likely be a post war Civil bird.

I always hope for the best.

PR19_Kit

The Scarab looks like a supercharged Percival Prentice, but smarter!

What's the idea with the twin sets of tracks on the  AE tank?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Captain Canada

Some great work in the smaller scales Martin ! The targets are really something. I'm a big fan of the Centurion and Chieftan, so welcome any insight into their little known development aspects. And thanks for the heads up on the makers, something to have a look at.
