Just past 31°C here in Charlton Southeast London, been wearing a damp flannel on top of my head to prevent heatstroke. I've run out of filler/putty, so it's just sanding using scraps of 150, 320 sandpiper and the odd bit of wet & dry. I've been listening to the radio show The Navy Lark on YouTube. A set of window blinds is definitely needed for my hobby room and bedroom as the sunshine plays havoc with the screen on my tablet even with a temporary sun visor from a magazine.
Two new neighbours have moved into the close, where I live. One of them has had a new carpet laid as I could hear the hammering.
Got a few paperback books from when I was in hospital, so it means rereading from the start, more ideas from the two hardback books on USMilitary fixed-winged aircraft.
As for the 1/72 Avro Lincoln B.2, I wonder if anyone has tried  printing a 3D fuselage, that's something that I will have a go at whenever I have sufficient funds to get one. The resin printers look a bit messy for me to use.

It's just reached 32°C in Charlton Southeast London and I was able to download the Real Racing 3 app without any problems. I have to start again from scratch, the graphics have improved (there's people in the stands) and the steering has improved as well.  No interfering adds so far.
The 1/72 Airfix BAC TSR.2 kit has changed from twin jet engine air intakes to just one under the chin, could have come from an old F-16. It was in the 'odds and sods' box. More parts from the Airfix Lockheed YF-22 Lightning II have been added.
Further reading of the book American Secret Projects; Bombers, Attack and Anti-submarine aircraft 1945-1974 written by Tony Buttler. A lot has been covered on this site and the secret projects website. I tend not to read this book from cover to cover,  just selecting topics of interest to me.
I'll try and get some sleep this evening, it's too warm for anything else.

I'm tidying-up my hobby room and managed to clear two plastic storage boxes. One of the boxes has been refilled with the leftover parts from my current builds. Then there was an almighty crash. The 1/72 Revell Northrop ATB (B-2) had a tumble, smashed beyond repair.
I have removed the wings from the 1/72 Convair EB-61 Peacehaven AEW.1, this will return to the wings engines and landing gear from a B-52G. As for the Avro Shackleton and Lockheed Neptune kitbash, adding the Neptune cockpit to the Shackleton fuselage works and the rear end of the Neptune does fit although as its me,I'm going to overcomplicate this section and graft it on,saves me the hassle from the mistakes I made the last time I tried this.
Everything is on hold until I get supplies at the end of the month which means that I can spend some time playing with my train set now that I have some more track and a siding.
I have started going for walks in the evenings, every other day. It's only around the block but it's enough to tire me out, which seems to let me have a decent nights sleep.

That daily evening walk, if you manage to make a routine out of it, will keep you out of harms way both mentally and physically. Good stuff!
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

I don't know why my WiFi connection keeps dropping today so I picked up the Rolls-Royce Phantom Menace kitbash the monster wheels will be changed as well as the Austin FX-4 Ute 4x4.
I have cut down the bonnet/hood of the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud to fit around the new engine, I found that the 1/72 Boeing B-29 cockpit canopy glazing almost covers the twin V6 Jaguar engine and the gap left can be filled by cutting up a clear plastic bottle.
I did a bit of painting using the acrylic paint from the Airfix Lockheed F-35B on the Sukhoi Electronic Buzzard ECR.2 and the Fairchild-Republic EA-10B Electronic Hog. They both need a second coat,so another kit will be bought along with a F-16.
I will be looking for a 1/72 Boeing B-29 and the old Airfix Avro Vulcan B.2 , I tried this kitbash before but this time I will build the fuselage of the B-29 first then add the Vulcan wings and engines, allowing for the landing gear of the B-29 .I may have to cut the B-29 vertical tail fin and patch up the gaps with drop fuel tanks halves. There might be a line drawing for a reference in my two books on aircraft development of the B-47 & B-52.
Insomnia strikes again, yes I'm still awake in the early hours of Saturday morning, no tinkering as I have run out of filler and glue. The weather is very humid which might last into next week.
My hay-fever is playing up in the evenings, so I tend to walk up and down the four flights of stairs until I start to fill tried fortunately this ends up back on the top landing.

Since when is November considered an autumn month, I can understand October but surely November is winter over here in the UK.  Well it will be an early Christmas present for those recipients of the Low Income Allowance. At the moment Charlton is being battered by high winds and rain, I'm snug under my duvet.
I need to buy another controller for my 00 gauge model railway layout or get another power clip so I can run two trains, one on the outer circuit and the other on the inner. A 8ft by 4ft baseboard is enough space for my hobby room I will include an elevated section of track which will be extended when my strength returns so I can add it onto the intended shelving. It was my stepfather who got me started either a model train set or Scalextrix (slot cars), I chose the train set. My stepfather created a layout that could be stored under the main bedroom, this then moved into the garage until the roof started leaking, then ended up in the loft. The intention was to lag the loft and put some flooring down, add a extended loft ladder, there was a lamp already installed by the last owner of the house.
Unfortunately I discovered the opposite sex and had to sell the layout, some of the money went towards my first car, yes my stepfather did get his half.
I'm considering buying a secondhand slot car set as I can use some of my cardboard shops from the Wizarding World, I'm not too sure if Hogwarts ever had a racing track but if they did, I can paint the cars in the House colours.

Autumn is Sept/Oct/Nov, winter is Dec/Jan/Feb at least according to the Met Office and the way my brain's always worked. However that's simply a way of dividing the year into 4 convenient quarters. Maybe once upon a time it could be tied into climate and weather but not so much now.

I thought once the clocks go back it's winter, rain, cold weather and high winds with the odd snow flurry. Although it has snowed in May so what ever happened to the four seasons, not the group!

Not a bad way of looking at it. Only problem with that is, that for a few years we stopped changing our clocks here in the UK as an experiment, didn't work though. Mind you it's the Solstice this weekend and that's another way of dividing the year.

I've always liked the Four Seasons as well, and weirdly just as I started typing this reply they came on the radio

Thursday 22nd September 2023

It's been a weird sort of day with my Internet connection dropping in and out, I haven't been able to do any whiffery but ideas keep popping into my head. There mostly old builds that I either started but never got finished then robbed for it's parts. I'm hoping that some of these will get built in the years ahead I have ditched the geranium it wasn't doing that well and repotted the Chinese Money plant. I will get another house plant as I have a pot full of compost.
Having already spoken to the TV Licensing, I have received another letter letting me know that I am now on their register and will be getting a visit by them. I don't have a television nor do I live stream television programmes.
My sleeping has improved which is a good thing at last 6 hours of continuous sleep. Next week I will be doing a large shop as my stomach can't handle out dated food. I know most food banks are free and they do make a difference but I have decided to buy an air frier. Not one with all the bells and whistles but within budget they even bake cakes something I need to get back to doing.

The meteorological calendar defines Autumn as 1st September - 30th November. However, It's not uncommon in this neck of the woods to experience "Frankie Valli" weather ( i e Four Seasons in one day!) ;D .Truth is, we can have rain, cold weather, high winds any time of year. I can live with that. What I do NOT like is freezing fog! I live close to the River Forth and, freezing fog is common in winter. It really sucks the warmth out of you
Hates rivet counters! Eats JMNs for breakfast!

Thursday 28th September 2023

The last few days have been very scary for me, my blood sugar was low and I walking became a problem. I tried getting some money out of the Sainsbury's cash point/ATM but they wouldn't allow me so my hair cut is on hold until my new debit card arrives next week. I had ordered a jar of protein spread from eBay which arrived this morning, a few teaspoons and I'm back . The weather has played havoc with my Internet connection so a few more chapters of my book and a chance to play with my train set. Fortunately my mobile phone has a medium wave radio and I have been listening to BBC Radio 2, got the early morning quiz correct two days in a row.
I'm expecting an emergency food parcel from my little sister tomorrow and a few more packages over the weekend into next week.
I know what you're going to say, 'visit the doctors '.I have a Universal Credit meeting my first since May so I will pop into the surgery on the way home and find out who my new mobility doctor is as I haven't had an appointment since November 2022.
Apparently you need a TV license to watch live streaming, the hand that gives snatches it back in another form over here in the UK.
Got a lot of catching up to do, reading your messages.
